Hey everyone, I assumed this was an early build thing, but since it hasn't been changed in months.. does anyone have a serious problem with the Frozen City night lighting?

I mean, everything is very brightly lit (despite the black skybox), resulting in the whole area looking like an asteroid map (which I would love to see an actual asteroid map!!) and not night time. Everything is nearly blindingly well lit.

Is PGI going back to make this an actual night map at some point? The map would be great at River City levels of darkness. As it stands now, it feels like playing a day map with a night skybox.

Just because it is night somewhere doesn't mean the moon/sun relationship won't make it bright.

Before modern technology the full moon would be the only time some militaries could operate at night.

*Edit* I like "thinking outside the normal" when it comes to other planets and landscapes.

Plus, snow reflects light really well, which also makes it seem brighter.

Yep. There are nights during Minnesota winters that are as bright as Frozen City Night. Working as intended.

I just wish they had left River City Night pitch-black. Oh well.

yes its very odd. Basicllay all they did to make the night map was to change the skybox. The map retains daylight lighting. Whereas for river city they actually turned off the lighting.

but it makes it look off world (like on an atmosphereless planet) and idon't mind it too much.

also there is no moon on frozen city night. where does all that light come from?
