Nope, that is patently ridiculous
Light mechs should be able to fuse with assaults. For instance, 2 commandos could fuse with a stalker to give it arms, that it could then use to box, british style.
A raven could fuse with an atlas to give it a badass bird shaped helmet. An awesome could fuse with 4 jenners that could carry it along like a litter and an important noble.

Hardcore mode would be optional, and would give much higher rewards if you choose to take the risk.
...further segmenting the player base, further limiting the drops as segments probably wouldn't drop except against their ilk...
Aren't there enough problems to tackle and plans to implement without splitting aspects of the game that work, now??

We had one of those when I was a kid! It's probably still in a box somewhere.
As for loot... I'm happy with the salvage c-bills. Saves having to sell items like it's a DnD rpg. "Lesse now.... I gots 16 daggers... thats 1 gold and 14 silvers..."

My bad. I forgot that if you don't follow the status quo around here the handfull of guys that live on this forum rip you apart like a pre-made of Ravens on an isolated Atlas.
I think the word "loot" is what set them off. Now if you said "Salvage" then you would have been still made fun of but less harshly.

Actually, if he had salvage, he'd have been overwhelmed with likes. Would have made it rain likes in here.

1. Leveling through XP.
2. Loot.
MWO is missing the second.
When I started playing I was hoping that you would be able to acquire better gear by achieving certain milestones (1,000 kills/assists, 500 spot assists, K/D of 2,3 - etc).
And I was really hoping for a hardcore mode where if you died on the field, AND your team lost the battle, whoever killed you got all non destroyed gear from your mech.
This would also open up another interesting area of online games (for me at least) - an auction house, or "black-market", where this booty could be traded.
I wonder if it's too late to consider any of this...
I love this idea. Its more in line of what the orginal tt game was all about. Particularly Salvage. I like the idea of a black market, particuarly when clan tech starts showing up. Make the black market work in MC and that will likely make the accountants happy and provide us with a chance to buy and sell salvaged equipment....
