Little light on AC ammo, but whatever, hehe. Take out the AMS if you want a skim the armor a bit for more ammo.

or
2xAC5, 2xLL, 4xSRM2, Engine XL275
Both are pretty heat efficient, 1.25 range and very effective at all ranges.

Having mastered the DD I would suggest you don't bother.
The Jager has to be one of the most fragile mechs you can pilot; it's like a giant catcher's mitt for incoming fire.
There are other mechs out there that will carry most of the load-outs you can put on a Jager, and do it better.

I disagree.
First, the arms sit high and can clear a lot of obstacles which other mechs can't without exposing themselves more.
Second, the arms can pivot up and down further than torso mounted ballistics.
Third, the Jager is the only mech to be able to mount 2 AC/20s in the arms.

If you read the OPs post properly he says he doesn't like the dual ac20 build; thus there are other mechs (cataphract, catapult) that will serve him better.
P. S. having high mounted arms that pivot well is pointless when a few shots can blow up your side torso.

Other than that, 3xUAC5 gets rave reviews, there's a ridiculous JM6-S 4 LL build (as XSive said, although you can also put in a bigger engine, Endo+FF, and remove the ears entirely) that is at least as good as serious 4LL builds people run on the K2, and you can't go wrong with dualguass.

I read the original post.
I disagreed with yours.
And I still do.
And it takes more
than a few shots
to blow up a side torso.
But then again,
if you keep getting hit
in the side torso,
perhaps you should move...
