I've been mucking around with an LRM20 C-1 for a week now and I've swapped one of the medium laser's for a TAG to cut through the swamp of ECM that's around now.

Yesterday someone actually mocked me for it but I find it effective, especially for the nailing the AS7-D-DC Atlai that seem so prolific right now.

What's the general consensus? Is Tag something that should only be used on lights?

Carry TAG and you're never at the mercy of the enemy or your notional teammates in an ECM environment.

I have one on my CTF-2X, but that's mostly because I haven't shelled out for Artemis yet.

Anyway, you seem to have a legitimate strategy going. No need to stop just because one guy doesn't see it.

If i would focus on LRM i definetly would carry an Tag. Should do more damage in the end.
If an Ecm light closes in you are screwed annyway. The 2nd Laser wont help much here. Better use some Streaks / SRMs.

Do you use LRMs? Then you should probably carry TAG. Although after the LRM nerf, using LRMs is not necessarily the best idea.

You NEED a TAG if you carry any LRM.

i think tag needs a range buff... not sure to what but... tag needs a range buff.
