there are basically no rolls, find them and kill, the team that stays together wins together.

******** - you can pick any role you like...as long as it's a jumpsniper LOL

seriously though - in time the game will normalize. missiles are messed up right now but devs are going to fix that... right?

just being suspended from being an effective light/medium pilot....sucks
there is no logical reason to pilot anything that weighs under 70 tons in the current state of mwo

I have to agree here, I jumped on for the first time in ages, excited to try out my 4G now that Ballistic HSR is in effect.

But every game I got into was me and 7 Heavy/Assault mechs and I got shredded within seconds as soon as we engaged.

I play pretty casually, so I've always stuck to piloting Hunchies, now I just dont see the point, I might as well sell my 4SP/4G/4P and just buy a Highlander, It's really no fun being a whipping boy.

Isn't that video a year old?

Games evolve and change over time ... if your trying to make some point that the *vision* for a product isn't the *reality* we ended up with ... well, I got a couple of words for you:

Welcome to the Real World

Games, Software, Business, Marriage, etc, etc, etc ... what somebody *desire* or *imagines* is not necessarily what they get ... that's life .. deal with it.

That's a shame. I like rolls with my turkey, potatoes, gravy and stuffing. I don't like sharing my food though, so that talk about a team makes me a little nervous.

There'll always be a flavor of the week, best to get over that now. Has nothing to do with the arms race to the heaviest mech. Just a month ago we saw almost nothing but Jagermechs, how bout now? Just the ebb and flow of new shiny things.

PS: the other night we can couple of Jenners in a 2-man group and won most of the matches (2.0 W/L ratio). Fun times blowing up Highlanders there :)

His point is that its devolving not evolving.

If your marriage becomes the same argument over and over and does not get resolved for 13 months, you file for divorce.

When a company makes a ton of money by selling a vision, they have an obligation to stay reasonably close to that vision. What we're seeing now has strayed so far from what had amazing potential. Many players are angry because this is increasingly not the product that they were sold several months ago. Just look at that list and think how much more interesting gameplay would be if those roles existed.

Players are killing role warfare.

If you don't have objectives, then there is no incentive to not take the heaviest, deadliest mech you can (absent tonnage/BV balancing, which we don't have). Except, people whine if someone runs off and captures a base in assault.

So yeah, blame the players.

I have been playing a lot more recently now that Uni is out for the summer.. My poor hunchbacks can't take the 6-7 assaults per match. Meds are meant to work in groups and flank.. can't flank a mass of assaults.

I am patient though, and dream of a well-balanced match where my meds can excel

I'm just going to keep repeating whenever I get the opportunity:

In a competitive environment players WILL NOT self-police. This is the job of developers.

As stated by others, the game is still very much in development. Each balance change or tweak causes a change in the meta game. 1 month Lights are OP, next its fast small laser Hunchbacks, then fast assaults, then missile boats, etc etc

Currently I'm playing my normal Cat 1C LRM boat, and a Spider 5D because people say they are nerfed. More difficulty now, yes, but I'm enjoying the challenge.
I agree that the current Sniper-fest meta game is getting a bit old, but I find ways around it. Coring Highlanders from behind in a Spider is very satisfying. As well as capping because their 700+ ton team is too slow to stop it.

Cheers.

I love the jump snipers. They have good alpha, sure, but they all group up in the same spots, and you learn the covered routes to flank them. Then my superior DPS lets me rip them apart.

But yeah, the meta changes from patch to patch. Highlanders came out this week, so everyone is running them as jump snipers. If you know the maps well enough though you can use cover to get in their faces and take them out with superior DPS builds.
