Since ELO was introduced I've yet to see a single match where each side had the same number of Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault mechs. Generally, the team with more weight wins because the pilots are "equal" due to ELO.
This is unfair because you have no control over which team you land on.
To "even" this out I suggest a C-Bill and XP modifier be added to each match. When teams are equal in weight the modifier is 1.00 (no change). If one team is 400 tons and the other is 500 tons the 400 ton team should receive 120% (= 500 / 400) the C-Bills and XP win or lose and the 500 ton team should receive 80% (= 400 / 500) the C-Bills and XP, win or lose.
Since the heavier team is more likely to win, they'll still receive more awards than the losing team unless the weight balance is drastically skewed.
Finally, this would make a good reason to pilot Medium mechs. They're lighter and therefore are likely to create light teams with a better bonus, but heavy enough to carry enough firepower to get sufficient kills.

Couldn't be used on conquest as I find the lights worth more than their weight. And packs of 3L's are hard to deal with.
