No, not really. They go power down in a corner, or make you chase them all over.

I've only rarely seen anyone win doing this, and I've been here since the game first opened. It's purely a spitting move.

Actually, I have two DDCs set up in my queue, and my founder atlas. Still doesn't make it okay that people lock them in 15 minute games for no reason.

I've seen it happen quite a few times when the light pilots DONT try to fight, but cap instead. Especially on conquest. The atlas's usually either arn't smart, or fast enough to go and hold 3 points or stand on their own base.

As long as they are trying to play the game and not just shutting down in a corner they aren't being spiteful. You complaining and yelling at them instead of just quitting game and using another mech are however.

I have plenty of videos and screenshots where I rush back to base to push the silly raven off the cap with one second to spare. It's just for spitting.

You're not gonna win against 7 guys, and if you do, you're not winning. You griefed a tap out, with no damage. Like Hulk Hogan when he can't make the save.

Are you telling me lights are on par with ancient, old wrestlers, who can't fight for real? Because that's what you're telling me, I think.

Happens all the time. They die straight away, then say something stupid about what you're doing.

The most annoying part is to tell them they're idiots, you have to stop what you're doing and start typing.

I once was all alone in my stalker no weps no torsos and cored out....took a stroll to the other teams base and finished capping what was half left of it.... I felt pretty damn good about my self!

It's funny, cause I just got abused for doing the opposite.

In my spider on Toulamine, me vs 6 enemy, so I stopped capping (we had no chance of making it, even if I went mental trying to cap) and I ran at the enemy, even managed a kill.

I'm not saying that what I did is always the best option, but I was rather baffled at the slurs I copped for my glorious last stand =P

Yes, on conquest the lights BETTER be capping, because if they aren't even if you win the battle, you lose to the one guy that escaped and now you are down 300-650 with a bunch of slow mechs.

Running a light on conquest is kind of strategic, you not only have to keep your team ahead on points (you never know when they will derp and get themselves slaughtered) you have to find the enemy capper(s) and eliminate them from the equation.

This is one of the reasons I spend a lot of time locked on conquest. I get tired of the sniper/camp game.

I salute people who contribute. If the one light has no damage, and is the last guy alive, chances are he wasn't doing anything in the game, and that's why he's the last guy alive.

Like bad players who ran in the wrong direction, or when you go through the cave alone, while your pub team takes water. Poof, you're the last guy alive. Maybe if you'd gone with them, they'd have fared better. At least you'd die like a champ, and not be trying to score a silly cap win for REASONS.

Water walkers set my teeth on edge.

"HEY YYYYYOOOOOUUUU GUYS we are slow and don't have much range capabilities....lets go water, what could possibly go wrong?"

You won't see any self respecting team/group of people do that. Too bad there's not alot of them.

I think it just comes down to how much are you emotionally involved with the fight, if you lose, and you play with your heart, you'll get mad at whoever and rationalize that X or Y was this and that and that's why you lost.

If you play with your head, you will say, yes, were up 2 on them but we left the base unwatched, we should of headed back 1 min earlier and we should of had a scout watch that route.

Mind you, any kind of tactic other than "follow me" is near incomprehensible for the average PUG, so I really don't see the point about getting worked up over something you have no control of.

End of line: PUGging for a mechwarrior is the equivalent of a boxer hitting a punching bag while he's training. Getting mad at something like that is a sad display of how hard headed and not self-reflecting many(most?) players are here.

What's really funny on conquest - playing Alpine and then getting raged at by the other team when you win by points after their assaults and heavies sat for most of the game in cup between the two spawns. Classy.

In any case, barring the implementation of spontaneous Zeld. . . thingy. . . Belgian. . . en, there's no real point in "stand and fight" in any situation - especially when you chose speed over armor and firepower when you picked your mech.

Close enough. 5:1 says that she could walk into a Battletech Convention and win every TT match.

The very fact that this exists, amazes me. The staggering levels of Wise and Anti-wise colliding in that photo should have ripped the Multiverse in half.

It ranks for me along the lines of being told that capping is cheap when the other team is winning by 4 already. Yes I will charge a larger force with a smaller force and be destroyed just because you didn't pay attention to where you were, what was going on or defending.

No thx, I'd rather win.

Even though capping vastly improves the game and removes or eliminates the zerg factor altogether, I guarantee you a bunch of morons are going to see this and say "OMGZzzzzz PGI HATES DEATHMATCH. THAT'S RACIST."

Fixed it for this case. This is all I wish, people would be honest. They aren't winning in these cases just hoping the enemy goes to cap instead of kill them. Some how them preserving a pointless stat trumps people wanting to have their mech unlocked.
But keep trying to spin it about "winnning" or what not because of course no one is going to back stat whoring.
