I have a top notch system, a good connection, and brand new video card drivers, yet the rate of games where I have bugs since the Heavy Metal patch has been at least 30%. The rate of bugs for a game (not just for me) must be near 90%. I have had too many games pre-decided by one team having multiple people with bugs making them much more likely to lose.

Missing Friend or Foe Identifier bug? Alpha struck team members in my Atlas multiple times.

Missing Map Bug? Can't see where my team members are calling out enemies. I also had a hilarious battle where I thought I was leading a charge in my Atlas only to realize too late that my team mates changed their minds because I had to turn around to see where they were without my map. Then there is its cousin, the static map bug.

Rainbow bug made the game entirely unplayable though I haven't had that one since I updated the drivers.

Thanks for fixing the bug where the game froze when you finished, but that one cost me 500k C-bills you didn't reimburse.

LRM Apocalypse bug? I had to stop playing entirely until you fixed it.

Finally, I have been experiencing game breaking lag in 10-20% of my matches despite a good connection evidenced by low ping. I'm going to call this one a bug too because it only started since the Heavy Metal patch.

I realize how hard, time consuming, and expensive debugging a game like this is, but you need to shift priorities away from unessential features like 3rd person to work on bugs because I may still play now but I stopped recommending the game to my friends because it got embarrassing promoting a game in this state.

Edit: I saw the stats about weight mismatch not affecting win % and I'm inclined to believe them so I'll put that complaint aside.

Everyone should get embarrassed by the things they love once or twice. It means their is room for improvement in all parties involved.

and an elite founder with only 7 posts?!?!?!?!?.....are you also not using C3 or teamspeak?

I solo PUG so if anything is missing from my HUD....well I get to play an awesome guessing game or Leroy Jenkins...

I believe the common things said before a match is...

Good Luck. Have Fun.

I usually say "NEVER!!!!!!!!!".

I think this is in the wrong subforum.

I haven't stopped promoting MWO, but I do so with a huge disclaimer i.e. 'it's got the core of a fantastic shooter but it has a lot of problems'.

THIS. IS. BETA.

There will occasionally be patches that break more than they fix.

Things like HUD bugs should be considered challenges to be overcome, or a way to make MW:O more fun.

Stats mean less than nothing at the moment. I don't like losing, but I still have fun doing it -- even if we got face-melted 8-0.

sometimes i get the bug (that has been around since closed beta) where i don't get any player tags for friendlies or enemies. those are the matches where i operate on U.N. rules of engagement: do not fire until fired upon. it definitely makes things more of a challenge.

Of course it is and of course there will be. And when the beta testers report them to the devs and it's apparent there's a lot more bugs introduced than a hot-fix or 2 can handle, perhaps a roll back to previous version and another round of alpha testing of the new content prior to release to live servers would be the way to go? YMMV...

Also, I really did not consider it too much fun when I was shotted in a firefight by my team mate piloting an AC40 Jag because he lacked the IFF.

Though I do agree. It was a challenge I had to overcome when I was missing the IFF myself and my already downed spectating friend had to call targets for me, because he was actually able to see who the bad guys are. PS: I was also lacking a minimap on that match, to add to the challenge for me.

Could we maybe just stop hiding behind the BETA argument and accept that some people (such as the OP) just don't like to play an extremly buggy (albeit unfinished) game and think twice before recommending it to others?

I use teamspeak occasionally but usually I don't have the patience or time to find a group, I like to play in short spurts.

Beta doesn't mean anything in a F2P game that has been charging microtransactions (that in many cases aren't micro at all) for quite some time. Real Betas are for stress testing servers, fine tuning balance, and flushing out the last few bugs.

Even if I were to agree with you, I am arguing for the devs to shift priorities. Essential features like CW and additional maps/mechs need to keep coming, but 3rd person, new camouflage, consumables, and cockpit items need to ******* wait until the game is done and the bugs are gone.

Bwahahaha.

Bug fixes and Elo fix on Tuesday.

Permanent Missile fix coming soon after.

Camo artists can't fix bugs, but I'll chalk your statement to the contrary up as a case of the derps.

Who feels like a nub?

and tomorrow they will all forget this post and EVERY OTHER FIX THAT HAS EVER BEEN MADE. they will continue to rant about how no one has fixed their particular gripe and since they aren't happy the developers must be ignoring EVERYBODY.

i have seen plenty of patches that looked like they just took the first page of the forums and slapped those topics directly into the patch notes.

I've done the same thing resulting in a teamkill (apologies again to Ares, iirc). I'll not buy any MC until these very annoying bugs are fixed. Sometimes it's 4 or 5 games in a row which is beyond frustrating. Beta or not.
