Hey all, got the Heavy Metal this week, and I have tried a number of builds, from "jack of all trades" to various sniper, and brawler dedicated builds.
I've settled on
Gauss
ER PPC
2x SSRM2
2x Med Laser
and some times I run a machine gun in that last ballistics slot, and sometimes I bring the 5th JJ.
Any opinions? Anything the machine gun is really useful for? Any situations that 5th JJ really makes a difference?
Thanks all
Causa

Currently, there is only one reason to mount a machinegun: If you absolutely love the sound it makes as it fires and strikes the enemy - doing absolutely nothing - then by all means, mount one!
I'm not sure as to how much of a difference that 5th JJ gives, since I don't have a Highlander, but the 5th JJ doesn't make that much of a difference for me in my JR7-F.
In my opinion, get neither (unless of course you love the MG). Instead, put on an extra heatsink or tonne of ammo for another weapon. Or put on more armor if you can.

The 5th JJ makes a very noticeable difference on the Highlander.
What it will do: Give you more "hang time" in the air, or a higher jump overall. If you like jumping, the fifth jet can be quite helpful.
