Because there are no engines rated above 400, I think. And if there were, you might not be able to carry them due to their weight.

FASA designers didn't know that Machine Guns would be completely useless in Mechwarrior Online, so they decided to give the K2 2 Machine Guns and MG ammo to cover the PPC minimum range distance instead of spending that weight on something useful like jump jets. PGI on the other hand decided that only mechs that had jump jets in their canon design should be allowed to have jump jets.

Canon, balance and 'Mech obsolescence.

Same reasons why there are no Catapult variants with Ballistic hardpoints in the arms; they would be better than the AC/20 Jagermechs with respect to essentially everything that matters.
Also, the rest of the Catapults possess Jets, which makes the K2 all the more unique.

if you can remove JJ from cannon mechs you should be able to add JJ to custom mechs.

those things still have the JJ vents in the back
