Despite the fact that no one sees your mechs actual name, I still take time to look at the mech and think about its physical attributes and intended use before naming. Often these names stick and when I think of a mech its definitely name first and then make/model second (for ones that I love, theres other names for the ones I "have" to grind). On that note wanted to share some of my mech names and see what other people have done =)

My Favorites (for name anyways)

AS7-DDC - Flankenstein (runs at 62.4 kph so its fitting)
STK-3F - Thunderhead // JM6-DD - Holyman
CPLT-A1 - Raindance // JM6-A - Diplomat
JM6-DD - Diplomat // HGN-733 - Novalord
CTF-4X - SickPuppy // SDR-5D - Earwig
RVN-3L - FireChicken // CTF-3D - Madrabbit
CDA-3M - Ghostrider // HGN-733P - MurderPopkin
CND-9D - Jackelope // JR7-D - CannedHeat

For crap mechs I need to grind its usually named "ForSale" or something far less wholesome.

None of my mechs have names that I can safely share with the forum anymore, despite having done so without a single problem since day 1.

I had an awesome with one of every energy weapon that I called the PAINBOW, but it caused me more pain than the enemy.

My beloved Stalker with 5xSRM6 is called KERBLAMMO.

All my lights (with ECM) also have names that would have seen me suspended if uttered in school.

My most forum friendly mechs are the cents. They're named 50 cents, Eminem, and Flava Flav.

I like the "forsale" one. When I'm grinding for 2x on a chassis I always just call it Temp Ride. If you don't mind I'm going to call them all For Sale now.

I've still only got 4 mechbays, though I have mastered 5 chassis since open beta there are only 2 that suit my playstyles.

AS7-D-DC : BURNINATE!
CTF-3D : Blinga (because it was so freakin expensive)
CDA-3M : Fat Jenner

I have an Atlas AS7-D named Skull One. Named that because of the skull cockpit and I really love robotech/macross >_>.

Hunchback 4J - Red Dawn
Hunchback 4G - Big Papa
Commando 2D - Pee Wee Herm ( ran out of space )
Raven 3L - RVN-3L ( lol )

I did have another Commando 3A at one time named Tiny Dancer cause I thought it was appropriate for a Commando.

If I get another Commando I will be naming him Twiki after the robot in the old 70's Buck Rogers show "Bididididid Buuuuck! "

Centurions: Rooster
Awesomes: Caulk
Jagermech: Peak

Then I just give them Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 in the order I get the variants.

So I use the Rooster Mk1, the Caulk Mk3 and the Peak Mk1.

My 6x Med Laser Jenner is Mr. Pew Pew, otherwise standard names until I can actually change them since I didn't know their exact load out until after they were bought and experimented with.

But my Yen-Lo-Wang will be the Fast-Ol-Wang since it has the max engine size in it.
