If you do damage to a destroyed component a few things happen:
1) The damage gets passed to the next connecting component, towards the CT.
2) The damage gets cut in about half.
3) Not sure if it can trigger crits.

Stock Cicda:
  • 29 ML's to kill shooting through arm-to-side-center.
  • 20 ML's to shot off the arm, then re-position to shot the side, then re-position to shot the center.
In this example, the half damage only effects going from side->center torso, because the arm get's blow off.

Why do they even take damage when you fire at a already destroyed body part?
I can understand that you can work your way through arm, side torso, torso. But you can shoot off a leg and keep firing at it and you will damage the torso...
