I play at approx 50 ping and have been a huge fan of ballistics through my many matches.
Been seeing a lot (A lot is like - 2, when you're trying to hit one of those with an AC20) of graphically registered hits on lights lately - AC20's to spiders and commandos that are registering nada for damage.

I'm really looking forward to trying some ballistic focused mechs without feeling that I'm fighting at a disadvantage.

Even if it only normalizes the delay, rather than the semi-random delay we have now, it would be a big improvement.

Hopefully improve hit detection on any non-missile/laser based weapon. I know I've registered hits with my PPC only to see no damage on the enemy mech because of it.

I'm not suggesting that's all it is, but I bet it contributes to the numbers of complaints. Hell, people still think PPCs do splash damage, proving that many have no idea how he weapons work in this game.

I use dual PPCs and have them on the same firing group. Often I get hits on both legs or 2-3 torsos parts show damage. It really does behave like splash damage even though it's not supposed to.
