When the HM was introduced I didn't play a game for a week where I didn't see at least one on both teams, but I haven't seen one at all in the last 25-30 games I played. Did those of you who purchased HM wind up regretting it or are you just waiting for the rest of the Highlanders to come out so you can level them all up?

Waiting for the rest of them, I have everything else mastered.

I like the Heavy Metal, its a great mech when I can play with a bit of patience.

I'm not using it quite as much as I did when it first came out. I wouldn't call that unusual, though. I tend to play the new Mech almost exclusively for a few days when I first get it. I don't regret it at all. The HM did kind of spark a bit of a jump jet fetish for me, though, so I've also been spending time with my first Jenner, my Treb 7M, and my Cataphract 3D.

I am waiting for the rest of the Highlanders to come out, too. I have 14mil saved up and climbing. I need Speed Tweak and 2X Basics on my HM!

I have the exact opposite experience. I've rarely been in a match that didn't have at least one Heavy Metal in it, so far.

Heh it does quite well at putting down a fair bit of pinpiont. You have to train the lasers, but its a great mid-range mech for knocking off anything with a little bit of damage.

Does great to about 600m.

You just don't want a lot in your face.

Glad to hear most people enjoy it, I was thinking about getting one because I enjoy jump jets. I would give my left arm for a a Mad Cat Mk II but I don't think we'll see those any time soon.

This. I am quite pleased with my HM purchase. I like it almost as much as my D-DC; and that's really saying something.

I enjoy my HM just as much as I do the rest of my mechs.
I just can't play one and exclude all of the rest of my little pets.
They would be sad. :-( :-P

Besides, I have all of my basics and about 35,000 xp on it already.

Indeed. I cry myself to sleep each night because I don't have a Cicada to mount dual AC20s on. One day...one day...

You are right I've full elited every Cicada except the -3C, and I don't plan on buying one.

I play it nearly exclusively. 1 gauss, 3 mpl, 2 asrm6, xl330 engine w/ 13 dhs. I've also played almost all variations of PPC+gauss or LL+gauss+LRM setups. They all have something to offer. I do not wish to go back to any assault without jump jets at this point. I watch DDC's meander around the battlefield walking around rocks and broken ships and what not and just sorta laugh.

Im waiting for the other variants to max it (got the xp farmed allready), its just to slow atm. Still see a lot of them being played.

Maxed out the basic tree got a bunch of xp stored so waiting for Tuesday when I can but 2 more highlands.

To pass the time I'm levelling some cataphracts.

i love the pink big-boned metal lady with the chorus of praise-music coming after a kill!



just changed a few little things in loadout:
48 firepower on 1.39 heatefficiency ...
heavy arguments for the enemy mech-princesses.

gave me some very nice "lets **** some mechs"-metalmusic-dances


cant wait for the other highlevellanders!

I still see them in 50% of rounds or more. I even had a PUG round earlier today where there were 3 on the enemy team and 1 on ours.

I may still pick one up, but not until hero recoloring is unlocked and possibly not until a sale, or I only find two other Highlanders I like and need a third.

They're a great 'mech and I'd even say competitive. Once they can be optimized with Speed Tweak they will be a terror.

I love mine but with dozens of mechs in my bay you don't really expect me to only launch with one mech ever do you?
