Right, interesting. Thanks for the numbers, easy to imagine a comparison to Digital.

Actually if I remember correctly, most digital patterns in real life are fractal patterns
The problem with multi-coloured camo is that it is perceived differently at different distances. If you will make larger spots of colours, they will break silhouette when viewed from afar. But those large spots will be too large to blend with natural environment when viewed close, being too visible as plain-colored spots.
If you will make small spots and distribute them evenly, they will work well up close. But when viewed from afar, size of spots being below eye resolution, they will blend together and give away single, "uniformely" coloured silhouette.
So digital camies use larger spots peppered by smaller spots and smaller spots forming larger aggregates to not look plain-colored at any distance, and AFAIK they are "digital" because optimal distribution of spots were calculated by computer with finite resolution of output pattern, which gives us pixelated pattern. They kinda repeat their blotted appearance on different scales, which is atribute of fractals.

My best guess, is that it will be like digital camo:
Just search on Google, that's exactly what "fractal" camo is.

the current digital camo. is called fractal camo in real life.
they won't release 2 of the same camo.
maybe new fractal will use a different shape instead of squares. hexagons or something
i wouldn't mind if they made same camo patterns with different spacing.
for example the current tiger stripe camo is very dense. it would be nice to have a less dense version. with the stripes further appart.
same for just woodland camo. with the various colors covering greater parts of the mech.

http://www.uniteddyn...s.com/camo/c2g/ has a lot of possibility for digital/fractal camo patters. Man.

For some reason when I read that it was going to be "fractal" I pictured a tree in my mind.. Branches splitting into branches, splitting into branches, splitting into branches..... Etc.
I pictured a paisley pattern and damned if I know why.
