That's ridiculous. There was an ocean of tears about the marauder at the launch of StarCraft 2 that would shatter your ******* world if you got this upset about missiles and 3rd person. Blizzard never nerfed them, never discussed nerfing them, probably never had any plans to nerf them, and hilariously, buffed them at one point.
I have no idea where you think I am upset about missiles. I'm like one of 5 people on the forum who understand the current state of missiles and it's place in the history of missiles in this game. And yeah, I think Mechwarrior is no place for a 3rd person view. I don't think 3rd person view belongs in racing games either, but that's kind of beside the point. I guess those were supposed to be for comparison, but since I don't play SC2 the comparison is lost.
I know nothing about Blizzard, I will admit that. You cannot deny the example set by Planetside 1; however, that game's developers caved to the slightest inkling of a tear and it ruined the game in so many ways. Since PS1 there have been games that learned from this lesson, and games that have not. I'd prefer it if MW:O were one of the latter. Sadly, it does not seem to be going that direction.

Your edit puts the blame for an "overreaction" on people on the forum instead of PGI. It's. . . it's laughable. And before you type up an angry response (because I get that), just think about it. I think, since you're a smart guy, you'll be forced to agree it's nonsense.
No angry responses here buddy. I'm an angry guy by nature, but I prefer to vent it in more constructive ways. Full disclosure: I do not always succeed.
By definition, an over-reaction is a reaction. By definition (in this usage) a reaction is a response by an individual. Individuals are responsible for their own actions; therefore, individual players are responsible for their own over-reactions to game conditions. Really not that ludicrous at all. I made no comments regarding the amount of responsibility PGI/IGP hold for the steady state of negative feedback - because that wasn't on the table at the time. You've simply extrapolated that out of my omission. I think my post history is pretty clear on my opinion of the developer side of the communication coin.

(And just as a closing remark, let me state once again that I have posted now just under 850 times, and of those 16 have been new topics. I am not one of those people Roadbeer is complaining about, and I still think it is absolutely ridiculous to complain about people using the General Discussion forum for general discussion.)
The problem is that they are not. They are using GenDisc for items that should be going into Game Balance, Patch Feedback, or Suggestions. Furthermore, a healthy majority of the threads that wind up here just amount to a tear bucket over whatever the hot issue of the moment happens to be. I'd love to come to General Discussion and have a nice, pleasant chat about the various maps and more creative paths to follow than the usual slog to the "fight at the usual roughly center of the map spot," but said thread would just sink to the bottom of the pile as the latest "ERMAGERD ECM ATE MY DINGO" thread gets thousands of "He Said, She Said" responses.
