Whats up with this game? I just tried to play 5 games. FOUR of them i was bugged in one way or another. It's sad. I've dropped a good deal of money in this game and it only seems to be getting worse. i know others have spent quite a bit also, where is this money going? Are the DEVS driving Ferraris? I would like to know.

Why not have a test server for people to try new content before it goes live? Then, only add content when it works instead of rolling out new mechs and maps just to make money instead of making sure its working as intended first.

Frustrating indeed.

Download and reinstall the game. I had the same problems, went from crashing to desktop every other game, fps drop and rubber banding to back to normal.

This is the problem for PGI, If you go too fast you get hit by plenty of bugs.

A lot of people on these boards are dismissive about these problems, but they are serious and aggravating. Bugs and glitches that make the game unplayable or too much of a hassle to bother with after dropping money for a month of premium time isn't very funny.

Being told, just wait for two, maybe three weeks and we'll sort it out isn't either.

I know bug squashing can be difficult. If there really is no way to speed up the process, PGI could do a lot to mend fences by temporarily suspending the premium time for people who find the game unplayable right now so it's not burning away while they wait for a patch.

Wait: A reinstall fixes all that?

Why is this the first I've heard of it?

A reinstall does tend to fix a lot of the bugs, ideally do this:

1> Uninstall MWO
2> Run CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner (its free), make sure you do a full registary scan.
3> Make sure the MWO folder is completely deleted, no old files left behind
4> Defrag hard-drive
5> Reinstall game

That helps with almost any game as a lot of bugs are caused by Windows registry entries or cache files that windows refuses to delete for some reason...

A reinstall may help some, but it isn't some magic cure-all.

Crashes, super low FPS, and Phractal-Nightmares have been plaguing players since the patch. It isn't a windows issue, it's a MWO issue.

Since the patch? Wrench, you and me know this, since the game started these issues have been in.

It may be a different flavor but having no HUD or IFF information is pretty much the same as black screen or yellow wash.

Just because you can see with these bugs doesn't mean it's any less un-ejoyable or playable.

Your not going to get much in the way of sympathy OP - As you mentioned these things are usually just glossed over as in 'It will be fixed'.

All I can say is what has been said before, we tried. We really really tried in closed beta to tell them that if they opened the doors with these kinds bugs plus new player experience it was going to be bad.

It's not all doom and gloom but the stuff I have heard people say about this game while playing other games, sorry everyone, there is a huge amount of general dislike and discontent.

Oh don't get me wrong - I still get the HUD bug, or no textures bug or no friend/foe indicator every now and then but the reinstall did fix the issues I had listed. After the last patch I was seriously disconnecting from the game every other match. I was rubber banding everywhere and I had lost 7fps. I nuked the game, downloaded and reinstalled. All those issues vanished and the game was back to smooth. I didn't do a thing to my computer beyond reinstalling.

MWO has always been buggy, but since the Feb 5th patch things have actually been stable for most. No more black screen or goldvision, the HUD wasn't bugging out so much.

Then the April patch hits and nothing works. I'd say 30% of my games feature a radar that doesn't work or the absence of IFF or targeting boxes. Some players frame rates have hit the floor, others get Phractal-vision acide trips, most people report more random crashes.

Something got busted in the last patch and the combination of bugs makes the game range from annoying to unplayable depending on what kind of system/vid card your running. PGI should let players opt in to a temp suspension of their premium time while they get their stuff sorted.

Uninstall the game.

Uninstall any 2008 C++ redistributables you might have.

Reinstall the 2008 C++ redistributable.

Repair your .Net profile

Run CCleaner and clean your registry.

Reinstall the game.

This fixed a lot of issues for me.

I am rarely bugged.

Also,

look for a crash dump

in the MWO Users directory.

If it is old,

don't bother,

but if it is new

send it to

support@mwomercs.com

as it will help the developers

figure out what is broken.

In fairness to revisit this thread. I wiped the game and re-installed MWO. I have now played 6 games with no issues. Thius did seem to have helped.

Don't use the windows uninstaller. Use Revo, as it searches for every last trace of the program and wipes it out.

FYI, I still get bugs even after uninstalling, just fewer of them. The more matches you play after the uninstall, the worse the game seems to get.

Like I said,

I had to completely clean

some things up.

Apparently

all the C++ 2008 Redistributables

can really mess something up.

Bugs that prevent you from playing after you paid premium? Say it isn't a problem that needs to be addressed!
