It is more FUN to run a light without ECM and Streaks. ECM+Streaks feels like cheating.

This I agree with. The game needs to start rewarding light pilot jobs and not just damage/kills, and it needs to do so soon. Four assaults, two heavies, a medium, and a light isn't exactly BattleTech Universe canon for 'mech lance composition.

There're 2 lights with "broken hitboxes" now: Commando (which back screams: "Shoot me!") and Jenner (he gets damage to CT-front from ANY direction). They must be fixed.

What about light-medium balance: just wait for ballistic-HSR, I expect huge drop in numbers of light pilots.

for me it seems like this
Small maps for either conquest/assault they are fine in general (i almost said we i play lights 70% of the time lately)

large maps on conquest we get alittle hosed (worst on alpine) ive have many matches where i spend it running around capping with zero fighting, but if i stop to fight we will definatly lose on points. so even if we win i end up with nothing.

lastly ANY map or game mode vs other lights with streaks where i dont have ECM SUCK. Really sucks that ONE weapon can completely shut down any usefulness a mech has....

not that i think SSRM's are OP overall, the only tweak they need is to have the missles (LRM's too coudl use this on top of a speed boost) randomize the location they target when fired. so they arent all going to CT. As it is now in a 1v1 you basicly have a time limit on how long you have to kill the enemy mech, which some lights have the firepower to get the job done under that pressure, but alot dont.

even in a game with enemy ECM/Streaks i can do well i just cant play "as a light" which sucks on conquest but not a huge problem on assault.
Now games where there are no enemy ECM/Streak lights its great, ive had 600 damage games in my Deathknell in those situations both vs teams with lights and vs teams with no lights.

I have the same opinion. I only occasionally use them to see if anyhthing changed, but so far it hasn't.
Usually I avoid that build because it feels like bug-using.
But it really is putting me at a disadvantage and I feel it constantly.

It really only is a disadvantage when facing ECM+Streak 2Ds and especially 3Ls (the light 'mech cheese build supreme).
Other Ravens? No disadvantage.
Jenners? No disadvantage.
Non-ECM Commandos? No disadvantage.

I usually run an ECM 5D (ERLL+2ML) or a rather wonky COM-1D (ERPPC+ASRM4 - it's a ghetto Panther 10K), and the only 'mechs I feel disadvantaged against are the aforementioned ECM+Streak 2Ds and 3Ls.

problem is most pilots will use primary the L and the com 2d exactly because they are easyer to play
on top Matchmaking makes such funny things like giving the other team 2 ECM raven Ls were you get no ecm mechs
instead of both splitting them into seperate teams :(

I've seen enough Steiner scout lances, light swarms, and me being the solo Jenner scout to think it's not as bad as people make it out to be... but also I get the odd feeling that slow reduction of usage of lights is also followed by more QQ from more heavies+assaults which have been appearing at about the same level.

Lights are not encouraged

to perform their roles.

When we get XP and CBills

for capturing points

and actually scouting,

then this game will be

more about teamwork

and less about trying

to get that last shot in

for the holy KDR.
