on top you get alot less earning and xp so where is the sense in playing lights atm except grinding matches after matches and stealth capping ?
before it was fair with getting the same money for a win as your team but now
for me it seems like this
Small maps for either conquest/assault they are fine in general (i almost said we i play lights 70% of the time lately)
large maps on conquest we get alittle hosed (worst on alpine) ive have many matches where i spend it running around capping with zero fighting, but if i stop to fight we will definatly lose on points. so even if we win i end up with nothing.
lastly ANY map or game mode vs other lights with streaks where i dont have ECM SUCK. Really sucks that ONE weapon can completely shut down any usefulness a mech has....
not that i think SSRM's are OP overall, the only tweak they need is to have the missles (LRM's too coudl use this on top of a speed boost) randomize the location they target when fired. so they arent all going to CT. As it is now in a 1v1 you basicly have a time limit on how long you have to kill the enemy mech, which some lights have the firepower to get the job done under that pressure, but alot dont.
even in a game with enemy ECM/Streaks i can do well i just cant play "as a light" which sucks on conquest but not a huge problem on assault.
Now games where there are no enemy ECM/Streak lights its great, ive had 600 damage games in my Deathknell in those situations both vs teams with lights and vs teams with no lights.
