Please do not ask me why I started this project or how much time I've put into this. The answers scare me. I still have the rear torsos to do, and the top is probably going to get a bit more redesign before I texture it. The leg design still isn't something I'm completely happy with, so any constructive criticism on them would be appreciated.

Let the fangirling commence.

P.S. Big thanks to Ironhawk and Bishop Steiner for their renditions of the Urbanmech which were big inspirations for this.

It is amazing. Also are you using blender or something else?

it looks pretty cool but i think the bevels you are using on the legs are too thin. most of the mechs in mwo use pretty wide bevels. unless ofcourse you indend to add more details to the upper legs.

Yeah the thighs aren't done yet.

I actually used your signature for the initial scaling, but it ended up looking too big. I think it's the flat-top design as opposed to the dome style head. It ends up looking like it should weight more than the Jenner instead of less.

Can't speak for my friend the Bishop but you got the Hawk stamp of approval here. I like where this is going. Few constructive comments as you continue your dev process:

- cockpit window adjustment is interesting; never thought of that though I am not sure yet if it looks as 'mean' lookink (but I'll grant you we'll probably see whether that's true or not only once you have darker cockpit window panes installed)
- agreed with slightly taller, beefier legs
- I'd add those missing heatskinks... Those grids greatly amplify the machine feel on those 'Mechs
- missing a couple X style bevels for that military/tank feel
- IMHO jump jets should have round tanks on an Urbie
- by looking at the human in comparison, seems like those ladder bars should be more distant from one another (may have been a problem with my own design as well now that I think about it)

Very good job. After your design is completed, you should texture it in Mudbox and send it to PGI! :-)

Legs are missing some detail, top half of the legs, also the hipbone(?), what the torso is sitting on. It also needs a visible cockpit, and perhaps some more parts like rungs to make it look more to scale. Other than that, it'll look pretty good with a texture.

I think I forgot to mention that this is maybe like 75-80% done, not including the texturing process.

Pretty nice. Not in love with the beveled look on the upper carapace, and agree the torso to leg proportions are not "urbie" enough. Curious to see the finished project though.

Posted Image I made the urbie lose weight, stold the jenner's grill, used that commando pipes on leg and gavem a commando eye for his urbie-dimple.

I really wanted to see him with the 2 big antennas...... :)
I think he should have special antennas......

Would you post the original artwork that inspired you that was mentioned earlier?

Suggest upscaling the AC/10 - it looks somewhat inconsequential, instead of 30+% of the 'mech's mass.

3/5s, actually which is 60% of the Urbie's mass.

I think it should be smaller, imho.

It is just 20 tonner, after all...

AC10 is 12 tons, out of 30. Not 60%. Closer to 40% (10 tons, being 33.3% of it's mass, the other 2 tons adding 3.3% each for a total of 39.9%)

Not bulky looking enough to be that short. AC/10 DOES need upscale, but Urbie needs to pack on some meat, too.

Oops, you're right.

I need to update my knowledge about the little thing... I assumed it was just 20 tons (well, it is cheaper than Locust).

Heres the Redwasp's bobble head urbie.....

Posted Image

WOW I never thought about 12 out of 30 tons........ I wonder what it would look like if that AC/10 really was 40% of his body. :)

If someone is familiar with the 3dmodel stuff...... Think you could render a Jagermech with just a AC/10 in his right arm?

Then we chop the ac/10 and build urbie around it. :) I just copy and paste stuff with paint.......I feel like a kid with those re-stickable stickers.
