This isn't the same kind of assist bonus used in spotting for the missile boat.
In a discussion revolving scouting, there is no bonus involved for spotting the enemy (assuming, they are not obscured by ECM). Scouts that spot a mech (aka, you can now target the mech) should gain something like a 5XP (plus minor c-bill) bonus.
After a period of time of not spotting a particular mech (something like 30, 45, or 60 seconds), you can get the bonus again... because at this point, they may have relocated and/or are the last few mechs that are being chased.
This is the only way to give scouts some benefit to something that is not being rewarded for at all (outside of a tactical purpose). This would also indirectly benefit those that carry BAP and/or advance sensor range (which is stackable) and there should be a reason to carry this stuff.

This would work really well with Recon Mechs, See http://mwomercs.com/...reconnaissance/. It would provide a real reward for the role.
