I was speaking to a player who is part of the group of tech savvy players working with PGI on bug issues ( very hush hush clandestine group from what I've been told).
He said the reason bugs take so long to fix is the pitiful ammount of actual feedback the devs get about the bugs.
Hey WTF! My system keeps crashing all the time, fix it noobs! - is not feed back
Feedback (at a bare minimum is):
email
support@mwomercs.com
Subject: Crash to desktop or Crash to Mechlab, or Game Freeze or Game Freeze (Reboot)
Attach the following files:
DXdiag.txt (from DxDiag save all information button)
Omicron.log and
OmicronOnline.log from //Pirana games/ Mechwarrior Online folder
crashdump.dmp from //Pirana games/ Mechwarrior Online/USER folder
Do this before restarting the client, or the files get overwritten.
I do this EVERYTIME I crash now, in the hopes that the techinical info will help. They always say thanks for sending it. Looking at it another way, If the support crew get innundated with these emails, PGI will fix the problem to get us off their backs. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, so they say. Can you imagine if PGI got this email every time a players client crashed?
My two cents
