Tue. Apr 16, 3050: Accusations arise that Defiance Industries test of 9S Zeus 18 months ago were all staged; variant crippled with defect.

It has pretty much been agreed upon by the community that 20 will be the Zeus, even though people would rather see the King Crab.

Quote

ZEU-9S - The -9S was an upgrade using Star League technology, adding double heat sinks and eleven tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor. It carried as its main weapon an Defiance 1001 ER PPC. This was backed up for long-range combat by a Coventry Star Fire LRM-15 launcher and a Cyclops XII ER Large Laser. For close combat, the -9S carried two Defiance P3M Medium Pulse Lasers. BV (1.0) = 1,419, BV (2.0) = 1,639[8]

Quite a few new technologies going in this bad boy, no wonder it needs some extra time in the test chambers

I am so excited about the prospect of the Zeus. Hope it turns out well.

Would be stoked for a Leonidas hero mech, and super stoked for a Zeus-X Stacy hero mech.

So still no 2xAc20 Assault Mech?

I checked the variants and haven't seen any mounting 2 ballistic weapons.

Because that would be a nasty mech to brawl against. Jagers/Ac20cats lose speed/armor/ammo to fit both ac20s in, could you imagine going against a mech that had armor and 40pt minimum point damage?

Zeus, it's the BattleMaster's little brother.

Battlemaster was the biggest mech included in the first tabletop battletech game I played. I'd much rather have the warhammer that was on the box cover .

Remember the battlemaster as being pretty meh ;)

I'd rather have the Battlemaster (granted it will need customization to make it viable), but customized well, the Battlemaster is King of the battlefield!!

BattleMaster meh?!?

PPC, 6xML (two rear-facing), SRM-6, 2xMG - when that bad boy got into brawling distance you noticed!

Warhammer is what needs to show, none of this silly battlemaster or zeus stuff. The warhammer is so awesome that they would break the Light Medium Heavy Assault order just to unveil this masterpiece.

Speak for yourself. The Zeus has something the King Crab has never, and will never, have: mythological sex appeal.

No it hasn't and no they wouldn't. The people want the Imp if it's gonna be an Assault, and they want the Urbanmech if it's gonna be any weight.

Yeah, but as a mech, it's not much different from the Awesome, mostly energy and missile. Sure the original variant has an AC-5 (one ballistic slot). Wouldn't bring much to the area however.

Think the Pretty Baby is proof the Zeus would be popular.

I can see why people drool over the King Crag but I rather see the Thug come first
