I should not need to use this third party website to mess around with different builds, weights, slots, and so on. The fact that I have to be able to afford purchase mech I want to be able to mess with is also dumb - what if I want to see how I could mess with a mech before I purchase it? I should be able to do all of the above within the MWO client.
Further, it shouldn't zoom in so close to spots of the mech when you highlight various sections (such as "head"). A lot of the time I want to see an area, like the head, highlighted in the context of the entire mech, so I can see how big of a target it is and how much armor I want to put on it. When it zooms in impossibly close to the head, it makes doing that mental calculation a lot harder. I don't think anyone really benefits from seeing a really close up view of the head anyway...
What do other people think?

I agree with all of that. Also, the mechlab should be freely available whether or not you have an open mechbay. I don't think that I should have to sell off a mech just to look into the possibility of other builds.
