I agree that that is the 'tradeoff', however mechs with arm actuators as I outlined before have lower firing angles, larger and more easily destroyed arms, and issues with weapon convergence that make them harder to pilot. I would think those would already be harsh enough. Anecdotally, it appears that the best mechs tend to be the ones without arms for the reasons outlined (though without better distribution of weights its hard to fairly compare them).

Yes, and that is a complete failure by PGI's implementation. They use actuators, whether intentionally or unintentionally, as a penalty for mechs. That's not how it should work. Not just "because table top" but because it's imbalanced. It's like giving mechs a hard-installed command console they can't remove and occupies crit slots and tonnage, but does offer no advantages.

In my Jenner now, and nope. Still the same. You should turn off arm lock in your options menu.

Here's the Jenner video. First part has the arms locked, second has the arms freed. Arms have no horizontal movement.

The Jenner unfortunately has only lasers in its arms, so you can't really see if the arms really point into a different location than the torso. One could try the K2 - install a laser in the arm and in the torso and shoot and turn wildly. You probably need to find a high spot first, to avoid convergence mucking things up.

And here's the one for the K2. Lasers align horizontally but not vertically.

That is truly bizarre because I played my Jenner yesterday, while posting, and I had/have reticule drift that moves outside of the box horizontally. I can't explain that one. Bug? I play windowed.

My stalker's arms can move like 5 degrees to each side of the torso reticule, I always thought that was normal, that isn't?
