But I don't like light mechs. Plus many people already followed your suggestion, that's why groups of 4 lights per team are not as seldom a sight as one would think.
Am I an ***** for NOT running cheesebuilds? Probably. Why don't I change my Jagermech 6DD to a dual-ac20? Because I still want to play MechWarrior and NOT min-max-warrior.

Use 1 ERPPC, 1 Gauss, 1LL and 3 Machine Guns for lols. Build works very well. XL250 btw and Endo

I personally think the ability to customize their mechs has turned this game from great to ... @*#& (crap). Why? Its an ARMS race, literally. I buy a new 'mech. I will not play it until I earn an extra 1.5 million c-bills for Double Heat sinks. Most 'mechs also require Endo Steel as well... another 500K to a million down the drain.
If i was a noob, I would be too poor and new to understand that Double Heat Sinks are worth every c-bill and a "MUST HAVE" item. Likewise, most chassis require Endo Steel to be a "MUST HAVE" item. 'Mechs that have the ability to use ECM need those ECMs - they are a "MUST HAVE" if the mech can have them... they need to. Ever see an Atlas D-DC without ECM and you go @#*& me? Why?
War is, was and always will be an arms race. Oh and not all builds work better with endo steel.

Hmm yea I just saw in your sig you like the Hunchbacks, mediums are in a rough spot, not fast enough and not armored enough to survive either way. My k/d in my treb is pretty bad compared to all other classes.
Take the 7M, put 1ERPPC, 2ML, 2SRM6 and 1 SSRM2 onto it with a XL250 and full JJs - very good build.

lol and you seriously believed that?
bwahahahahaaa
All classes are valid. I can show you my K/D ratios (I'm playing everything but lights). All are good, even mediums. Hell I'm even still doing great in my AWS--8R brawler with 4xSRM6+Arty

whenever a new mech comes out...
"FOTM" - Flavor of the Month....
it will hold on for 1 or 2 weeks.... then it will fade over time
new mech has JJ.... it was obvious that there would be more potarting

rage again when there will be 5 or 6 Flea mechs within one team when it will hit mwo

It just added another chassis to mount the same weapons we were using BEFORE the patch
PPCs\Gauss\AC20

I don't know if its a case of this is what the majority wants, or if its more along the lines of its an effective tactic. With convergence the way it is high alpha builds are the way to go. They are very efficient, and even with mediocre aiming skill they are deadly.
On the note of mediocre aiming skills, its true that there is no target to big or to close to miss. That being said aiming in this game is easy mode. The only things that provides a small challenge to putting rounds on target are light mechs. If you have ever clicked on a windows icon before, you can hit a battlemech in MWO.
Now if you can reliably punch out the cockpit on an Atlas, then I tip my hat to you. If you think your awesome because you can put a PPC alpha into someone's center torso then your being silly.

Well...I just had a few couple games after the patch and I gotta say I'm almost at the point of throwing this game off the pc.
Boats, for the most part. Large lasers and ppcs everywhere. And the former joke, the Highlander with 2 ERPPC and 1 Gauss as a poptard among them.
This game has now officially become a parody of the name "MechWarrior". My personal thanks goes to all those who actively worked to ruin this game for the old fans, those who liked the books and the older games. You are the best!
.
i have zero problem with boats, or poptarts personally, and i dont use either for the most part. i dont consider my 4 ac2 jager a boat. its just fun

It's actually a fun game, but we exaggerate on the forums to some degree. Once you get through your first 25 matches you can buy any death machine you want, and after 100 matches you will see a significant improvement in your playing (statistically speaking). But your first few games will probably be rough. Try to make it through and you will find a fun game. Good luck.

When one part of the game gets nerfed way into the ground, the thing it was meant to counter excels.
Either you run sniper poptard or run in with your ACs. Now that PPC, ACs and Gauss actually hit for most people everyone pops, even lasers are underpowered again. Now, those with the best FPS win, not just those with the best ping. (getting hit hard way behind cover gives a great feeling of accomplishment)
MWO is going more into console style 3d shooter, then a PC Mech Game.
You stroll around in your assault mech see two mechs pop up, they shoot you once, you explode. Because why not.
Should they ever come around and fix LRM, people will actually explode even faster, then they do now. Less tactics, less movment just running around for 2+minutes untill the first ones explode, not even knowing from where the fire came.
If pistol rounds were your thing in CS, you will love MWO in the future.

Take the fact that people care as a good sign, every game has its gripes about balance. Several things are not working properly but they are working on all aspects. When LRMS are back poptarting will be slightly less popular. Then there will be a whole new QQ fest.
Use the forums like I do, to find new builds based on what people are complaining about (guilty pleasure) I play around with these variants for a while and always end up back to something more balanced (save my jagers which are dual gauss and ac20 respectively)

Snipers are the rock to LRM's scissors. Not the other way around.

Maybe PGI can get a Kellogg's to fund Poptartwarrior online?
IT'S CRAZY GOOD!
