[Spencer Kadeth]

So when I try to chat with team mates or all using "Y" or "T" I cant close the chat and send the message. My enter key doesn't function in game. I've changed the key in options and I've tried the number pad enter key. Neither work. Does anyone have a suggestion other than reinstall?

I have had the same issue for about 2 weeks.

I CAN talk on the loader screen when mechs are being added bit NOT during a match.
I reset my keys to default, no luck.
I key mapped the number pad enter as secondary, no luck
I made something else the end chat key then rebound the enter key... no luck
I uninstalled and reinstalled my keyboard no luck
I switched USB ports... no luck

works fine in any other program

any suggestions?

Same problem here, guys. Ive got it after last large MWO patch. Cant chat at combat at all. That is a sort of in-game bug i think, and i'm surprised that so few people has it, so developers do nothing to fix it.

Simple answer is to delete them and get them reinstalled next time you start the game.

More complicated answer is to dive into the XML and figure out which section needs edited.


I can't use the Lance chat at all; the option to configure the key to trigger it doesn't appear. I suspect this is the same issue.

(edit to add:) So I had a look at my defaultProfile.xml; the line for "open lance chat" was commented out, as it had been for ages... uncommented it, lance chat works fine, option now appears to change key.

Way to go patcher...

Removing defaultProfile.xml did the trick for me.
