Saw this thread and was wondering if others are finding this to be the case.

Let's discuss.

Whether or not this is a bug or intended it just further reinforces the notion that PGI has no real QA team, they just use the players as substitutes.

I'm tired of PGI leaving it to the community to find out what the mystery meat is on patch day all the time. PGI either has no idea what goes in it or just doesn't like telling us for some stupid reason.

I've only been able to get a couple matches in so they've been in a Highlander, so I haven't been able to test this yet.

I do not like this news
with how fast light mechs are already any loss of speed for the bigger mechs is going to be unbearable when trying to face down a light...

Yet another data point we now have to track to see when PGI silently changes it...

This is easily the dumbest thing i've read all day.

Just because you can't see QA, doesn't mean it does not exist.

Just ask my friend Gravity.

You're missing the point. The point is that obvious stuff like this keeps making it into patch releases without any notice or documentation in the patch notes. To their credit, in the past PGI would give a heads up if they were aware of new issues in a patch release. If they could do that before then why not now?
If there really is a QA team then they must be severely incompetent to miss something like this and the previous LRM issue (among other things).
If this was actually planned then PGI needs to learn what "transparency" is and why it is important to build consumer confidence.
Then again, since we on the forums aren't PGI's primary audience they probably feel more comfortable sweeping this kind of **** under the rug.

Seems more like a glitch with Speed Tweak.

Erm... as it seems it is a percentage of less than 1% of the 'used' top speed.
-> The faster the mech is the bigger the actual speed loss is.
-> faster mechs loose more speed than slower mechs.

Loosing ~1kph for an 150kph mech? What a big deal. Scandal! I honestly coulnd't care less.
0.4 kph on an Atlas?! Wow, now I can't walk this baby to the drag strip no more...

You are missing the fact that the loss of speed seems mostly random. Some are reporting drops of less than 1%, others as high as 7+%.

My CN9-A lost 0.6 kph. Not much, no. But I did notice it.

Niko, any chance we can get FULL patch notes?

At this point we are already delivering a patch note standard more complete than the market standard equivalents. Extra patch notes take extra time which increases with the number of people entering changes. Extra time which we cannot yet sacrifice in this stage of development. Patch Notes will slowly feel more complete as the game becomes more so too, don't worry.

You can observe the effect of gravity. I don't the same can be said for PGI's QA.

........is this a glitch or an actual patch tweak, that's all we really care about or need to know, don't care about the process, thanks.

On one hand, I think that if the speed of 'Mechs was purposefully affected in the lastest patch by PGI, (seems more glitchy to me) that should definitely warrant a patch note.

On the other hand, before we starting ripping PGI to shreds, can we take a moment to appreciate how great this patch is otherwise? HUD bugs are GONE. SWEET lance controls and chat. The Highlander!

My point is I think there's a LOT to commend here.

Did you two not see this when you signed up?

You are the QA, or at least a good portion of it as a Beta Tester. They only have a handful of people that have other bugs to mash out rather than trying to see if a Raven 4X with a 220 XL is moving .4 KPH faster or slower. Bug report it and move on. You all are taking this way too seriously. Get a life or job, and if you have a job, get more hours because you have way too much time if you're complaining about a 20 man Alpha QA team missing something you as a beta tester found.
