A Chill Out or a Chat Room is basically a special map. It is not intended for combat, and weapons firing is completely disabled. Instead, just lets people hang around, chatting and socializing, basically 'chilling out' and defusing tensions. Newbies can also come here to ask questions, and people can show off their mechs.

Ideally, the map can look like a base with a runaway and hanger, with some landscape around it.

Up to a maximum of 24 members.

Members can be added anytime the chat room is present.

People can leave anytime.

Last one leaving the chat room basically closes that room.

Players can initiate chat rooms and call their friends in. A login code can be issued out.

Unless closed, players can drop to selected chat rooms or randomly to any chat room that is already open.

Chat room is an option in the Launch Menu. Should be above the Testing Grounds.

Chat rooms can be modeled to that of different factions.

Although this may reduce the player pool available for matches, the need to chill out and communicate with the community overall adds to the immersion and to the overall community experience.

Proposed Menu Structure:

Choose: Conquest, Assault, Any, Chat Room, Testing Labs. Choose Chat Room

Choose: XXX number of Chat Rooms open. Choose Random, Faction, or Select.

If you choose Random, you will be dropped into any Chat Room open to the general public.

If you choose Faction, you will be dropped into a Faction specific Chat Room only publicly open to fellow Faction members.

If you choose Select, it wil ask you the Login code. Your friend who initated the chat room should send you the login code so you can join him.
