I have bought adv zoom module but it gives me very pixelated picture - completely useless!
Is it a bug, designed to be useless or what?

It looks like adv zoom is the most expensive cell phone ever coz I had comparable crappy quality digital zoom on my Ericsson K800i back in the old days. So there must be something wrong with it. :)
For 2mils and in 1000+ years in advance I expected to be at least good quality and dynamic so I could use it in exchange for standard zoom.

Help!

(I would provide pic but have no idea where is the ingame screenshooting option...)

An old beta trick I used to do is switch to night vision, which helped remove the fog on say forest colony. Makes the image clearer on the ADV Zoom as well (this is actually why I would fight with night vision on while on Caustic Valley back in the day; it removes the fog and much of the blur.

The problem is that the game engine itself does not support picture in picture, so when they originally made it they had to script it in from scratch. Now it can be handled much better in DX11 with hardware rendering, but at the moment it's quite literally a "software zoom" relying entirely on your processor and as such has none of the pretty effects of the rest of the game.

I still find it handy because I find I don't have to lead my shots anywhere near as much at long range. I can fire with a UAC/5 almost directly at a target running perpendicular and still hit it, so I still find it very useful.

It has also been recently improved when they backed the filters off of everything. So as bad as it is, it was worse. >_< Personally I wish it was a bit wider (Its difficult to lead a long shot based on the speed of someone you can no longer see).

More or less. I have 9 of them. Still don't consider them a waste, however. For me, it's no zoom and lead the target with guess work... or zoom and point right at them even though they're running crazy fast and still hit them.

Honestly don't like to snipe without 'em.
