Yeah, the hovering mech shadows on this map have been a problem since it was released.

The baking of the shadows is only for the terrain isnt it ?

Like, baking them "sets" them into the map so they don't have to be rendered in realtime afaik ?

Anyway, yes the hovering shadows are annoying. I thought a light was following me the other day only to turn and see an atlas shadow instead and go WTF atlas must be behind me standing on the ridge....then I realised it was my own shadow floating way over there........ B)

yeah it should be only for terrain. in which case they'd have to add dynamic shadow anyway? (the type that casts over the mechs stepping under it as well as the terrain) since currently the mechs stepping under these shadows are not shaded. like in all other maps.

so i don't understand why baking saves render resources. unless the dynamic shadows are done ingame?

What I meant was, the mech shadows shouldn't be hovering because the baked lightmaps for the terrain should be under it...
