Obviously your elo is in the toilet bowl. There is 4 to 6 every match on both teams no matter what.

What do players define as poptart? Anyone using jumpjets? Anyone shooting while using jumpjets? Or does it have to be someone that stands still and does nothing but jump up and shoot all game?

I was certain it was the 3rd one but now I see people call poptard the second I turn on my JJ to get over a piece of terrain.

In my Jagermech's current elo you run into 3-4 HGN poptarts per match. They can't hit anything. It's pretty hilarious. Considering that it's a new Jagermech and the HGNs can't aim, I wouldn't classify poptarting as a strictly high-Elo phenomenon

I JJ'd up behind my teammate's Atlas to take a clear shot at an enemy who was being focus fired, and I got called a poptart.

So I'm starting to think that "poptart" now means "any use of JJs that occurs within 30 seconds of me dying".

So in other words, just normal QQing.

well tomorrow when they start doing more class based matchmaking you can run with 3 other raven 3L's and reduce the number of poptarts by 4 on the other team

I love the poptart snipers. 2 ERPPCs and a gauss in a phract are so much fun to totally wreck in close. My phract runs 4 mlas, an AC5 and an AC10. Same alpha, 25% faster cycles, for 25% more dps then the poptarts.

I think we should wait out the highlander being flavor of the month before we go making any sweeping changes to Jump Jets or long range weapons. Lots more poptarts because everyone is leveling their highlanders and that is the easiest way to get XP quickly. Let that die down and it will go the way of ECM and level out in use agian.

hate to say it..but op is right...feels like playing mw4 again...so far it was walk halfway across them and shoot each other..now its walk halfway across the map and jump shoot each other...and the worst thing is no one is trying to flank everybody bunch up at the same place and start jumping...meybe its time for a break from mwo.....

Learn to adapt and overcome. That in turn will discourage the tactic and it will no longer be so common.

Give it time. Just like every other FOTM, it'll die off in a few weeks without anyone nerfing or buffing anything.

Here's a free tip: When they pop up in the air, they make nice easy targets.
