So if you don't want to get frustrated with nabs, that can only stand in 1 spot and jump over an obstacle to shoot PPC/gauss and land, fill out the conquest queue.
About half a year ago I would've assumed people were competent enough to realize this themselves and that this thread would be redundant but times have changed.

However, in conquest, you don't have to engage them directly and those builds aren't really good out in the open.

Well, I've been playing conquest almost exclusively since it was released and except for the Alpine Peaks light mis-match fiasco that happens once in a while, it is overally better than assault.

Funny thing though is that when those, that don't exclusively choose assault, get dropped into conquest and begin getting outcapped, just panic and scatter. Easy pickins from then on.

Only played conquest since before the started recording game mode stats. I just assumed the poptarts were bad everywhere.
Thanks for giving me another reason not to play assault.

This thread is not here so you can boast about your average accomplishments against poptards, but to consult other players into choosing conquest game mode where they can avoid meeting them and being frustrated by how static the combat becomes.

I mostly play Cicadas, Stalkers, Cataphracts, Atlases, and Spiders, so it's not like I'm doing nothing but running around in fast mechs capping every match.
Conquest favors people who are willing to embrace the possibility that moving from point to point on the map might result in actual combat, rather than boring standoffs.

The thing is, you don't even need a light. Last night I and another PUGger back capped in a Cent 9A and a Flame. We stepped off before the actual cap, and brawled the two mechs that came back (a Cataphract and Treb) and killed them. The rest of our team took advantage of the chaos that ensued when the 'Base Is Under Attack' message appeared for our opponents and cleaned those guys up.
This is the best strategy for smaller, quick mechs right now. Everyone is dropping so heavy, they can't effectively defend their base unless they camp it. And, you don't have to step off it it looks like the rest of your team is losing the fight. Very effective.

Hi Nerd
as these players should learn not to run to where the enemy expects not to do what is expected of the enemy and adapt to the tactics of the enemy and its weapons and this counter ... if they can not, should they prefer to play with dice or against a computer AI ...
