The developers should seriously consider adding an Interactive Library to the Front End to allow players to explore the history and lore of the Inner Sphere (good example is the Archive Holoprojector from Mechwarrior 2). This library would include introduction videos for all the Great Houses, background information for BattleMechs, such as: history, capabilities and roles (similar to Technical Readouts), and an extensive database of weaponry and equipment. It would also include various animations and voiceovers (would be epic if narrated by Morgan Freeman)! This would give players something to do outside of the game besides tweaking their mechs. PGI could even benefit financially by selling various strategy guides (unlocked in your library once purchased). This would help the new user experience while giving nostalgia to us old time veterans. Thoughts/Opinions?

I'm hoping this kind of thing will come when CW is implemented. We might see a framework for it when the new UI is turned on.

i think they should scrap this game altogether and make a real mechwarrior game. as this game is currently set up its never going to be anything but a niche game.

Agreed with OP. Me personally, I've always been a fan of the AoE series for providing tons of historical information like this, and MW2 was a great example of providing lots of lore for missions. A 'mechlopedia' would be very welcome in my eyes.

Wouldn't they need to buy the rights to all of that stuff? It'd be awesome and immersive, but frankly given their limited funds and manpower the ghetto google solution might be better... unless you wanted a special in-game browser (for that MechWarrior atmosphere) that linked to sarna.net :).

Look at the big MechWarrior tag. Then realize it will always be a niche game. If they scrap this game now, there will never be another mechwarrior video game. Period. End of Story.

Wow thats the most constructive comment i've ever read on this forums, I really think you should find the closet door use it walk all the way to PGI's office and tell them in person its that great.

I would believe every player would greatly appreciate you doing this for the better of the game itself of course ..

Mechwarrior has always been a niche game. With the money they're making and in f2p format, it's actually not a niche game for once.

this is definatly a niche game, and this halfassed cashgrab of a game is not doing any favors for the battletech franchise.

haha there is a difference between being mad and speaking your mind(and im not going to waste my time walking on eggshells to make sure my statements dont offend anyone). maybe you should take some time and learn to look at things objectivly so you can actually see this game for what it is.

I look at it as a game in development, because that's what it is. You're acting like it's done and done.

if this game is really a beta than it is 70-80% complete(and has all major features). you cant deny that they went the cheapest and easiest route to make this game.

I like the idea. I'm not sure about trying to turn it into a revenue generator though.

Arguing over what a beta is is pointless. You can say it's an alpha or beta, but the fact is they're still adding core content. There's an entire half a year until they feel it'll be release state.

Oh, I see now, you've presented a compelling argument with irrefutable proo - oh, wait, it's an angry, childish inflammatory rant. Who would have thought we'd ever see something like that in the forums!

Well, yours is spectacular, even by the low standards often presented in these forums. At least the majority of rants are entertaining.

There are likely those who will take the high road and present counter-arguments, or even ask you to maybe post when you had calmed down, but I'd like to take this opportunity to kindly ask if you would mind awfully... ******* off.

I only fight for the space nickels and then I deposit said space nickels into my space bank account so when the mechs of my people get released I can purchase them.
