I spent a week running around in a 50kph Stalker with 4x ER PPC's. Slow and unwieldy, albeit no one wants to stand in front of me for very long. I have a terrible time actually getting my hits, though.

Earlier today I thought I'd take my max'ed out K2 out for a spin. First run in a week.

I always play support...not really after kills. Typically I'm drawing fire and keeping their big guns distracted while our big guns hit theirs. My average damage is 150ish and my kill average is .23. After driving that big, bulky stalker around for a week getting back into my cat it was like super mech.

Just sharing.

I think playing different mechs does make you better at the game. At the very least, you get to see how opponents kill you in different mechs, and then apply what you learn when you face those mechs. Plus it's pretty fun.

My AS7-D-DC is unquestionably my favorite mech. But I've got all kinds. PPC boats, LL boats, LPL boats, LRM boats, most of my mechs don't boat anything at all, but have a good mix of weaponry. Some have speed, some have punch. All of them are fun to play.

Still have no ******* clue how to do any good in my Awesomes, though. I don't know why I can live so long and survive so much damage in an Atlas, and yet, I suck so bad in an Awesome with almost as much fire-power, more speed, and a smaller hit-box. No arms to shield me, I guess? I am going to keep playing them, though.

Catapults might be the next chassis-type I purchase. Or Spiders! So many choices, so little spacebucks!

IMO the current "LOL I GOT A NEW HGN GOTTA TRY IT OUT BUT HOW TO BUILD IT OH I KNOW I'LL MAKE A POPTART" meta really benefits speedy mechs  (Because being able to build a poptart does not mean being able to hit a non-stationary target while poptarting :P)

Honestly, the more mechs you run, the better off you are. As a pilot I really enjoy the HGN, and it'll be my main mech from here on out. However, to be efficient at running one, I had to learn 1st how to run a scout, then how to pilot a semi-fast punching bag(medium), then 3 phracs, so at the end of the day I not only appreciate what my HGN can do, but I understand how to counter various weight classes.

Is everything about whatever it is you hate at the moment?

After the PPC buff, I took the 2xAC10s and 4xMLs off my K2 and plopped in a Std 275, 2xERPPCs, and 2xMPulse. I felt like Zeus throwing around indescriminate lightning. Doubling my kills and damage done.

I really like all three of my Highlanders, too. I've got 1 or 2 jump-jets on all of them. I think I may have XL engine in one or two, not really sure. I'm still feeling them out. They are fun to play. With enough matches to master, and unlock the module slot, in my Heavy Metal though, it is not going to displace my AS7-D-DC. But with 24 mechs in my garage, there is not a single one that I don't play occasionally. Except my Trebuchet. wtf was I thinking when I bought that? And I know I just need to .. learn to play it.

Haha I don't hate the current FOTW. (I pretty much never do.) It's just interesting to me how what works and doesn't work changes based on what ppl are running. I'm actually having a lot of fun staying mobile and counter-sniping :P
