Hey guys!

i`ve been trying out this game for a while now, and i find it very laggy on my Alienware m14xR1!

at start, i get 39 fps on low settings, witch is "ok", but when i meet other people my fps goes down to 9-11!

i`ve installed MSI Afterburner and put my core clock to 700mhz and memory clock to 100mhz, but it still sucks!

is there anything i can do to make this good, or even playable??

the game look soo cool and it sucks bollox that it laggs like hell!

PLEASE HELP SOMEONE! :)

question

have you been cleaning the inside of your laptop?

a clogged fan or heatsink can affect the performance of the laptop

core clock = 700 --> not that great!
memory clock = 100 ---> are you serious(seems pretty damn low)?
I ,however, think the notebook should be able to play MW:O without any tweaks from 3rd party tools! Maybe you could post your Notebook speccs as their seem to be different versions.

Check your temps, check your driver, as mentioned above; check your hardware(fans etc).
Any other games that run bad/good as a reference?

"Dude, it's a Dell."

Sounds common.

my memory clock is at 1000mhz, not 100 >)

My specs are as follows:

Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM CPU @ 2,00GHz
8bg ram
Intel® HD Graphics 3000
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M
750gb HDD

this should be enough power to run the game i think..

other games i play is World of Warcraft, i have settings on "Fair - Good" depends what im doing.

i have not cleaned it inside, mabe thats something i should try out!

when i start MWO i start at 39-49 fps, then after 1-2min it drops to 9-11ish.. jumps alittle.
i`ve tried to reinstall windows 7 and all the drivers(i get the drivers from support.dell.com/alienware) but still the same problem!
i also inslatted Tune up utilities 2012, witch made it alittle better, but not much!

i really dont know what to do here!

Buy a Desktop PC.
What you have now is an overpriced rice cooker... for the price of that laptop you would have gotten a 100+fps MWO Desktop with 27" LED 3D Monitor. ;)

Your cpu is throttling due to temperature, better figure it out before you de-solder something with the heat. lol. Get some canned air and blow out the exhaust and intake on the laptop, preferably from the exhaust side to blow the dust back out.

I found the problem! There was a bug with my graphics driver.
When I tell my pc to use nvidia for mwo and intell for browsing etc.. it dosent change! So now I set my nvidia to default and told it not to use the intel one.. I can now play stable with 50-60 fps!

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated!

Nice ;) Happy hunting :P

9-11fps in MW:O are not that bad results for an onboard graphic chip though

I've fixed the problem now!

It was a bug with my graphics driver. When I set up so nvidia to be used for games and the intel one for browsing etc it did nit change to the nvidia when I started playing.
I've now set it up so the nvidia is default and I can now play stable at 50-60fps!

Thanjs for the help guys, much appreciated!

so it was the switchable graphics

yea this is common on laptops with dual graphics from intel and nvidia/amd

the intel is for power saving and of course when on power mode will be the nvidia/amd mode
