Simple concept:

A weapon system that mirrors the LRM except it weighs half as much and take up half the slots (post 5- version) and has twice the reload delay.

AMM5
AMM10
AMM15
AMM20

These weapon systems are manually fired anti-missile defenses.

When fired without a lock they will interdict missiles out to 400m away with a 50% success rate. When fired with a lock they will interdict out to 1km with 80% success rate and only the missiles coming from the locked target.

AMM has no minimum range.
AMM lock is disrupted by PPC EMP and ECM.
AMM can be used as a poor man's shotgun out to 50m range (all AMM missiles fly ahead 100m before zooming up to interdict. During this horizontal flight time they will damage anything they hit ..and each AMM does about 0.5 dmg per missile).

(I have to do it)

I heard you like missile launchers. So I put a missile launcher that can fire missiles at your missiles that you fire from your missile launchers.

from a tech point of view. intercept misslies IRW are used against very long ranged missiles. not short ranged semi guided rockets (Qwhich is what LRMs and SRMs actually are.
and it's just not a BT thing.
Missiles are already so weak and limited in this version of the game. they don't need another hit.
