The way I "countered" this was pretty much just not mounting weapons there, sticking PPCs in the arms and other such things.

muskets are terribly inaccurate, so you need a huge block of them to be able to hit anything reliably. That's why they fought like that, not because poeple in the 17th century were clinically retarted. /offtopic rant.
The 4G goes one of two ways for me. Either my hunch get blown off early and I ineffectually pew pew a few things with a mlas till I blow up. or I survive and tear the rear ends out of a few assaults. Still, a fun mech imo.
Also: since the Ballistic rewind, the 4G is a surprisingly good light hunter. Ravens super hate Ac20 in the legs.
Aside from its faults it's a dreamy mech to pilot, responsive, fast enough and awesome torso twist. love it.

I feel like the Hunchback and the Centurion have the same degree of faults structurally (you trade off having a torso mounted balistic for one that's easy to blow off, etc.) so they should have the same available engines. Fix that, and I think the hunchback will be a much much better medium mech (and I also think you'll see substantially more of them).

I wouldn't say it's terrible, but I tried Running a Hunchie and I just couldn't get into it. It doesn't fit everyone, The Centurion fits me better. So Considering I do see a decent number of them, they aren't awful... They just need the right kind of person to work.
