[Circumnavigate]

Ever since the heavy metal mech has been introduced I have had a glitch where I can not type in game. It lets me type in all the words when I push T or Y but then I push enter and it does nothing, it wont send? I was excited about the patch yesterday hoping it would fix everything but I still have the same problem.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I haven't had this issue either...and wouldn't have commented...But Ashy Larry!!! I had to give a shout out.

On a similar note, I do hate that if I type something into the chat, and then decide that I don't want to say it (happens more often than it should for me) I can't just hold down backspace to get rid of the text...I have to tap the hell out of the backspace and hope I do it fast enough to not run into a building or waltz out into the open. It's literally the only issue that I have with the game.

Well, I had the "can not chat ingame" bug as well.

A complete reinstall of MWO fixed that. (Does not take long)

I also have this problem. I have a support ticket open, though no real progress yet. I'm glad to know it's not just me! I'm not too anxious to do a complete reinstall so I'll see if support can fix it first.

Ctrl-A, backspace. That's only two key-presses.
Or Esc-Esc, that's only two as well.

I know - they should fix the backspace bug, I agree. But there are workarounds until they get around to it.

When you say you've tried re-binding, was the that the keys which start chat or the "end chat" bind? I say that because I had this exact same problem a while ago. Turned out I had accidentally bound the enter key to something else which meant nothing was bound to "end chat" and this is what sends your messages.

I had a chat bug where the text would be limited to about 2 to 3 words before truncating.

According to support it is a known issue

I get it every now and a gain but its not a constant problem.

Remove the defaultProfile.xml file from your install directory (sorry, can't remember the exact location off the top of my head). Bug comes from the patcher not replacing the file properly, taking it out will fix your chat.

just hit Esc twice really fast.
