Alright I got thinking... the UAC5 jam rate was completely nerfed due to the ability to 'macro' the unjam mechanic and ensure maximum up-time of the weapon under continuous fire, correct?

So what's going to happen now that multi-boat AC2 builds are able to set-up macros to get ridiculous rates of fire from their guns? And that BSR has now made them particularly potent with the latest patch?

...AC/2 boating is the furthest thing you can do from the current high-alpha meta. They also chew through ammo, spread damage, and run hotter than any other ammo consuming weapon.

I've seen exactly one in the past week. It died badly.

This has to be a joke. Boating AC2s currently has to be one of the worst decisions besides boating MGs. Sure they rock you and have a long range but you cannot deviate from your aim and your front is always aiming towards their front line. its a gimmick build mainly for trolling in games really.

Yes, although the official reason was that nobody was capable of doing the manual unjam. It was far too difficult.

Hm? how do you get ridiculous rates of fire on a AC/2 with a macro? you already have the fastest firing ballistic weapon in the game and I fail to see how a macro would improve the RoF.

Yes they are very effective but also highly ammo dependent. I had a few 1000 damage games in my 4xAC/2 boat but on average I do 400-500 damage, mostly because I run out of ammo.

Heat is not a problem, just flush it or duck back to cover until you sink the excess heat.

No nerf or buff is needed for the AC/2.

Incorrect. Some macros work, sometimes, but syncing issues caused by latency prevent any perfectly timed cannon spam.

You guys do realise thay the AC2 has a ridiculous firing rate? You can get 16 points of damage from one of them in the 4 seconds it takes to fire a Gauss or AC20... And with the long range it is actually really good on paper... The fact is that you need bullets and lots of them and the damage is spread all over the Mech, but coming face to face with one AC2 boat its not fun.

I like my N5 Dragon running with 3 AC2's... It ain't the most efficient build but it sure is fun and dakka-dakka. And it tends to raise the heat level unlike other slug throwers in the game. So it is in no way OP, but the good thing is that it is not totally irrelevant.

An AC fires 2 times a second. If you have 6 of them on your Jager then you can not really fire them as fast (in chainfire), the cooldown gets in the way. If you have all 6 in seperate groups and run a macro to fire them in sequence you can get a frightening ROF out of them. Of course they are still doing the same DPS, but the "Dakka factor" is considerably higher.

I wonder if anyone sells any toe keyboards that would be compatible with MWO... I can drum my toes pretty well, and triggering 4x autocannons manually works a lot more consistently than doing it via macro...

I think OP means the 6xAC2 Jagermechs. The macro lets them fire one every .8 seconds or something like that, so while each gun has the same fire rate, the ROF of the whole mech is very fast. BTW you can do the same thing by clicking really fast.

For the entertainment factor:
Exactly what do you think should be nerfed on the AC/2?
