Is it worth the purchase? Is it a "must" buy for people who need hero mechs like the CTF-IL?

According to what I have heard, it is probably the 'weakest' mech in the game right now - though Gwilliy has reported he has been considering it on account of its high speed-to-weight potential, which is really it's only advantage.

I don't own one I can only say awesome in general fail to impress me, stock loadouts are good in the TT but in game they die to lights quickly.
Generally the massive centre torso means they get cored easily.

I play my PB as a support unit, using the LRM 20 and 1 ER LG Laser, then for close work a pair of Streak SRM 2s. I like being able to keep up with the scouts and provide fire support for them.

Ah, thank you for your feedbacks.
The hero mech I'm anticipating for sale is yet again the CN9-YLW. Centurions are my favourite mechs

i own one, its not worth it.
the way i play it right now, is like a brawler. you need to wait till your enemy is engaged on your friendlies then move in. i dont play it as a up front tank and that sad imo for an assault, i would much rather play a medium for that role. the engine upgrade is worth an arm and a leg. if you choose to be a slower tank, well there arnt enough hard points to turn into firepower.
it has a terrible deceleration rate but if you make use of the increase torso twist, you basically drive by while shooting 2-3 times and dont stop till you find a safe place.
any mech can put out alot of damage but how effective and efficient can a mech do that is more of the question. PB is not an effective way to deal damage or use a assault slot and its not efficient at what it does compared to other mechs. i personally can not vouch for it.
