Right now LRMs are near worthless, you get a warning that they are coming and if you are a skilled pilot with the shut down perk you can juke the missiles every time. Basically you just shut down/ power up and walk forward 5 m and watch them all kiss the dirt.

You can counter PPC's. It's not even just PPC's that are the problem.
It's the lack of dynamic maps. Crappy game modes. Jump Jets not causing any sort of shake. The missile nerf. And a hard point customization system that allows you to put the biggest weapons anywhere you want.
I actually blame the players more that the game itself for the current state of things. I notice a lot of "monkey see, monkey do" copycats in the guise of "I need to do so to be competitive". It's not really a new phenomenon in any competitive environment, real or pretend (e.g. the use of steriods and other "performance enhancing drugs" in sports -- "Everybody does it, so why shouldn't I?").

I really hope you implement some heat demage to a mech in overheat. And you increase the PPC heat again. There is a good reason WHY it is so high in battletech universe!

energy boating should be viable, otherwise you'd be putting the AWS and the novacat chassis in the trashcan (before the nova cat even gets in the game)

Try to counter a poptart group and you run nehind or engage close your eating 9 ER pcc to your face.
As one group that wiped us when I complained about all the PPC they said.."oh Large lasers are better..." um No they are not....Lasers damage over time...and if you dont hold point its spreads over lots of parts.....PCC is single point...immediate hit no damage over time....with the buffs....its a no brainer.
Lock out the max/min in this game.....module limits please

To fix it, I'd increase standard PPC heat slightly. Additionally, I would introduce turbulence or something similar for jumping mechs. Not much, but enough that the shaking throws off long range shots (while still leaving short range shots while jumping viable).

i say instead of nerfing the PPCs just buff up some other weapons. im tired of having things nerfed!!!!
ACs need BUFFFFFFING so they might start taking the place of PPCs.

Well, sure a lot more poptarting and PPC/Gauss fest going on. Bored of it? Try arranged 8-mans that use only pre-selected Mechs! We did last night with TRIAL Mechs and oh boy was it fun! 16 Centurion A's smacking it out or 16 Awesome 8Q's. I can tell those matches were more fun than the cookie cutter FOTM matches. Try it and have fun for a change OTherwise..well..not much one can do. PGI does or not, do things.
