I would think that is a MUST HAVE in this sort of game? I think a lot of new player come in, try it, find no community, and leave.

This is just plain stupid(even for PGI-Puttas Grande Inc), and would cost next to nothing.

DO IT!

As a point of reference, you're talking about 3 different departments involved with thousands of lines of code and a small bit of artwork that needs to be done.

Labor ain't free, and programmers sure as hell don't work for "next to nothing."

If a Mech costs as much as $65,000 to produce, and a map costs $250,000 to produce, based on your extensive experience in Game Development, what do you think a lobby will cost?

Hosting a chat channel on your own site would take an hour to set up, most of the code is already available, and if the 'coders' at Puttas Grande do not know that, they should be fired.

Okay, so now you want to have a chat channel on the website. And here I thought you were talking about an in-game lobby.

... oh wait, you were:

Unless you were talking about the inability to have a chat system in the game, which already exists...

... or maybe you were confused about the chat system that you can initiate between friends while in the game, which also incidentally, exists.

SO, what exactly are you talking about?

Imo it was a system required from the get-go... but ignored by PGI, and ignore, and ignored... now they found the users don't like the UI so their doing a massive overhaul which was UI 2.0 promised a month or so back... now it's at least 2 months off. Seem's it might be expensive but their about milking the community at present and back-dating alot of necessary improvements for this game to become alot more user friendly long-term. Seen this since CB...

Attention PGI:

Please halt all upcoming content updates and most importantly DO NOT work on fixing the bugs that plague this game atm so you can pool your manpower on a chat lobby. Thanks.

http://www.mwolobby.com

http://mwomercs.com/...lobby-solution/

I built this lobby in February but the post I made in General lasted about 15 minutes before it was hidden in the Fansite Jumpshimp section.

It's a clone of the MS Gaming Zone lobby used with Mech3 and Mech4. If you want something to use in the meantime spread the word in game and it will be successful. Fansites are not allowed to advertise in the General forum so few know about it and fewer use it. It's up to you and the people who want a working chat lobby like the past games to make it a good intermediary solution until their programmers integrate one into their game.

The way MWO is currently set up

Login to game server by the MWO application - choose to Enter Match,or Modify/Buy Mechs, or Pilot Options, or Leave to the game application server to this Forum(this application server) to ****** and wine

There should be a built in lobby after you login into the game server to chat with other players to ask questions, build a group, and meet other players, beside the other functions and also Launch into a match.

Does that explain it better?

It just makes sense!
