Now it is nothing but a total bit**fest about every single facet of the game to the point where it is ridiculous and adds no kind of constructive feedback at all for the developers.
Perfect example:
Alpine Peaks gets released.
Community: Wow, we get a new map! Too bad it hardly ever comes up in the rotation. Instead we have to keep playing more on all the stupid same maps we been playing on for months now. You suck PGI!
Then Tourmaline gets released.
Community: Cool new map! But wait.....it comes up in the map rotation too much!! I drop on it alot more than the other maps. You suck PGI!
There are many more examples too numerous to mention that a quick scan down the list of thread titles would confirm. The newest gripefest is people using direct fire weapons and JJ in tandem.
If anyone has been playing this game for a while they would see PPC/Gauss are right about where they need to be. Once they get missiles working right again you will see more balanced builds.(And actually, I still see missiles being used all the time.) But my point is that people are using these weapons more, and also getting killed by them more, which leads to cries of "OMG PPC's and Gauss are OP because I get killed by them too much, you suck PGI! Nerf them asap or I will quit playing!"
It does not matter if you are in the "This is Beta" or "this is not Beta" camp. This project is still in development and is a long way from being completed. Unemotional constructive feedback (and keeping in mind everything will change) is the best thing you can give if you want to really help this game progress.
I am thankful you guys are so patient PGI, I personally would have quit this project long ago just out of frustration from this totally emotional, childish and unhelpful playerbase. I think when you said, "This is not your fathers MechWarrior." You were more right than you can imagine with the way this generation acts.

Joe tell me do you believe the game should have a diverse set of weapons and that there shouldn't be one weapon system married to a single fighting style that is ascendant?
Yes or no?
I make no judgements about the game in asking you this i'm just pointing out that people are arguing for diversity.
Whether you think we have that or not is irrelevant.
This is not simply about ego and people not being able to take their giant robit exploding.

Op discussion makes things happen, and censoring your forum to that degree is just insane. You're idea is bad, you should feel bad, don't come to the forums if you don't like it, or learn to ignore it, It's really as simple as that.

As it is, this one forum-section has taken on the position of soap-box central, while the other forums are kind of quiet. There's nothing stopping people from having a rational discussion about ballistics state rewind in the Davion forums with other Davions, but instead everyone just piles in here, and the ratio of evangelists to level-headed individuals in one place results in what you see.

How often do you come to this forum and see intelligent discussion? How often do you come to this forum and see childish complaining? I said above constructive criticism (which fyi is discussion) should be involved, but not the constant gripefest this forum has become.

You should have posted this thread 6-7 weeks ago.

You must be new to the internet and forums in general.

Jump sniping take-over is a valid concern since as MW4 was finally dying, the only thing left were PPC/Gauss jumpsnipers that made the game a lot less fun.
Missiles are utterly useless, even before ECMonster
The bugs are worse than before.
etc..
There are plenty of valid complaints out there.. and while they're pointless because PGI doesn't seem to actually read them unless they're inline with their plan anyways.. there's no harm in it as PGI doesn't seem to actually read them anyways, because the solutions do not fit PGI's plan.
P.S.: I've done a thread just like this.. I used to think this way, up until PGI made their stance on game issues blatantly obvious with ECM.

Quite often actually intelligent discussion is usually the norm until people pile with comments about how it's all QQ....
[Redacted]
Its only when people start loudly shouting people down as QQers that these threads turn into piles of shi...t

Yes, hindsight is always 20/20. I noticed it then to but it has done nothing but get worse, and at a faster pace.
I can't tell you the last time I saw a thread in this forum that was worth reading. (some would even say this one)

Actually I think they had missiles just about where they needed to be a few different times since CB started. But lately they only seem to OP them or nerf them too hard.
I don't think jumpsniping (or as the new term seems to be "poptarting") will be much of an issue once they get missiles and other weapons like the LBX back up to where they should be.

Oh but yeah, regarding your topic, OP: I think this particular discussion board does not add anything to the game except creating negative feelings, although it is sometimes very funny.
