Since we have been left in the dark for the last 3 weeks, let's guess the patch notes for May 7th:

- New Hero Mech: Raven, Max 300 engine, 5+ energy hard points, possible jump jets and ecm
- Canyons map
- Buccaneer Camo
- 12 v 12
- 12 v 12 built-in sync drop (allows you to drop against another team of 12)
- Paint your Hero Mechs
- Tourmaline and Alpine reduced weight
- Host State Rewind for Missiles

Reasons:
The next 2 hero mechs are onese they've already come out with. Since they go from light to assault typically, I would say the raven because it is the oldest mech without a hero version. I would also guess that it would feature primarily laser hard points just like the death's knell did.

They've hyped Canyons so much recently there is very little chance that it won't be coming out on the 7th.

They've accidentally put parts of 12 v 12 into the live servers (caused some bugs too). It's been in testing for a while. They recently introduced lances which were a pre-cursor to 12 v 12. They've had 3 weeks to fix the bugs and get it ready so I don't think they will push it back to the 21st.

I don't have much proof that they will implement the built-in sync drops, but in Brian's AMA they said they would soon (or maybe he meant full on lobbies, but I doubt that comes before community warfare phase 1). I expect to have confirmation of this later today when the Ask the Devs post comes out.

Seeing as HSR for ballistics was 2 patches ago and HSR for lasers was about 2 patches before that, HSR for missiles are due. I could be wrong on this though...

EDIT: We'll probably also get the UAV consumable, but I don't have any reason to explain this other than it's already in the files and rumors.

Where do you get the information about the Hero-Raven?

Interesting to speculate!

I like your prediction about the Raven hero mech,

I think a hero raven would have ECM, but either no missile points or only 1. As you suggest it will be laser heavy.

Part of releasing the ECM balance changes to the forum early (several weeks before they are due to be implemented) is to forestall forum rage about a hero mech with ECM.

If we know that the nerf bat is coming soon to ECM it should let them release an ECM hero without too much uproar.

You heard it here first folks - Raven hero with ECM and pew pew!

Hero mechs chronologically: Yen-Lo-Wang, Ilya Muromets, Fang/Flame, Death's Knell, Pretty Baby, X-5. I'm excluding the Heavy Metal because they have said it was an anomaly that they were trying (with great success). The mechs that have yet to be made into Hero Mechs: Raven, Stalker, Spider, Trebuchet, Jagermech. I exclude the founders mechs in this. The reason I said the raven is because they have 2 light mechs to release as hero mechs, and the raven is the oldest mech without a hero mech.

I could be tempted to buy a Raven Hero. It'd need to have ECM though for me to be interested. Throw in JJs and I'll stump up the readies.

Did not Garth say that the names Huginn and Muninn were reserved for Raven Hero 'Mechs...?

much better. That would be strange if we got 2 hero ravens named Huginn and Muninn. I would like citation for that... sounds like Garth trolling

Actually, according to http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__2319225 we aren't really getting anything this coming patch except Hero colors, patterns, and cockpit items, maybe bug fixes this patch. They've had 3 weeks and no new significant content? Even the rest of this month (only 1 more patch on the 21st) we are just getting 1 new map, 1 new mech, some consumables and a module....that's it! PGI releases new signficant content slower than a snail crossing a sidewalk...

Sigh...

They fix bugs they get yelled at for not providing enough content... They provide more content and they get yelled at for not fixing bugs... :(

I recall a similarity in this with my ex-wife... Nothing I ever did was good enough.

Don't mad at the programmers. The owners picked the wrong engine in the first place knowing that it had no setup for a game like this. Today I was able to talk to one of the top 5 programmers and net coders in the US. The misguided souls picked one of the engines that you cant just run it around the world. A game Defiance can and is doing it now. Fifteen years ago 3025 was doing it. You can put a dress on a pig but its still a pig. I feel sorry for them.

wow they really dropped the ball...I don't see any new features... just content. At least the balance changes on the 21st will shake things up.

Nevermind, the new consumables count as features.

This is EXACTLY like my ex-wife. I could crap gold and she'd complain that it wasn't gem encrusted.
