Well it's Saturday, extra many new players and AFAIK total greenhorns are still dropped right into the mid-tier Elo rankings. So in other words, weekend as usual. Now if the devs would finally put new ones at 30% lower Elo to actually match a lot closer with their skill. Well I can always dream can't I?

Not if those 80 damage points are all on the head or rear central torso of the targets.
so the player ( in whatever mech ) who lived long enough do deal 900+ dmg isn´t as "skilled" as this particular boomcat pilot who just made a pinpoint headshot and some splashdamage and then died?
i can hardly comprehend....

Would say it's working rather OK at the moment. Been playing the assault challenge a bit this weekend, placed 23rd in awesomes right now, and I get rather consistent matchups with players from the leaderboards of all assault mechs. So looks like bracketing is working quite allright, at least from what I can see.

i cant even take screenshots to state my point, they would be out of context and not really valid since i could just upload the ones that fit my statement

Still getting these matches. Up to 4 Players who underperform the rest by a great level. In all srsns if an elo system cant match you with ppl in your "skill" range after a large amount of games, i ld say something is broken. But since we have no elo rating or something we can relate to its hard to tell. i also think this is one of the reasons why they dont release the elo rating for players.

Considering that PGI is still "fiddling" around with our elo scores, was there even an actual SYSTEM to begin with? For one, you would need a fair amount of consistency in your "sampling" for Elo (& any other rating system) to work as some statistical measure of "skill", i.e. WHAT "skill" are you "sampling"?
And some people think it's good enough if MWO allows players to have different Elo scores for different mechs (or mech classes)...
Err, no-- you actually need a defined/set (META-)game BEFORE you can even have an Elo (or other rating) system, i.e. giving a player ONE elo score/ranking for both Assault and Conquest modes makes as much sense as giving me one single Elo score for playing "Go" and International Chess-- sure, they share some "soft skills" which are "transferable", but to the extent of having "transferable" Elo scores for match-making purposes?
I mean, no one in MWO can confidently say that "my MWO Elo should be high since I do a lot of XYZ"-- cos no one really know what XYZ is or should be ("Kill-Death Ratios", "Win-Loss Ratios", "Caps/Assists", or some mix of all that)? IOW, what's the META-game that the "skilled" MWO player should be proud of playing (Strategic wins? Personal damage-per-second? C-bills? Xp?)
FYI, the "Elo" rating in Airmech & the "Match-Making Rating" (MMR) in Hawken are both readily viewable by each player and can be broadcast to the entire community. They are completely different beasts (Airmech's Elo is determined by Win-Loss because the meta-game is about base-cap or map-control, while Hawken's MMR depends on +xp/min because it's a twitch-shooter)-- but even with the on-going tweaks, they are already working as match-making SYSTEMS in Hawken's Server-Tiers (beginner, medium, advance) and in Airmech's Elo Queues/Match-making (1-star, 2-star, 3-star).
And the Airmech and Hawken community doesn't even need Community Warfare as some kind of meta/end-game-- cos their Elo and MMR rating are already serving that purpose (with an least ONE measure of "best player/ team/ faction").

Yeah, ELO system works great... thats why the most popular score in random is 7-1
