I have been browsing the forums and I found a lot of great builds for the Raven 3L(which I am now a proud owner of) that use the x280 or x 295 engine, and I myself would like to upgrade to that engine. The only thing is I am very new to the game, so I am short on cbills at the moment so I was wondering if there is a way to put the x295 engine(which I do have enough money for) into the mech without upgrading it to an Endosteel frame(expensive) right away. I realize I probably won't be able to fit everything into it that everyone else does if I do it, but can I even do it? The build is 2 medium lasers, a tag, 2 streak launchers, 2 ammunition for the launchers, emc, case(which I am willing to ditch), Bap(which I wonder if I should ditch). Can I do it or is Endosteel a must? Help is appreciated as the 97 kph base speed is causing me to get destroyed pretty easily.

Yes you can build a semi-stock 3L without endo. BAP, TAG and CASE are not needed. You get about 75% of max armor using the 295XL.

Thank you so much. I was really worried about spending 4 million cbills unlocking an engine and then watching it not fit.

Your first upgrade should be to the engine (buy the 295XL), then DHS, then Endo and FF. Get rid of case and BAP. I use TAG on my 3L, so I'd suggest keeping it. I believe that everything should cost about 14mill C-bills including the 3L. Also, to get everything out of the 3L, you'll need to eventually buy the other two variants of Ravens and grind them. The 3L is a blast, but it is not invincible.

Oh, and when you can afford them, buy the pilot's modules 1) Capture Assist 2) Advanced Target Decay 3) 360 Degree Target Retention 4) Advanced Sensor Range

If you would like to know an endpoint for your upgrade path this is what I personally run:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9ba9ff1c1e29def
As others have said your upgrade order should be:
XL295 > DHS > ES > FF
If you're having heat issues it may be worthwhile to take the DHS first as the difference in heat efficiency is dramatic. Max out your leg armor as legs are the primary target for enemies.

While your mech looks pretty good, I do have a minor suggestion. Max out the armor on your left arm and take it from your head instead. The number of times my head gets shot off even with only 12 armor is really, really minimal. That way you don't lose that arm and whatever is in so easily.

I tend to have incredibly horrible luck. Seriously. Like rolling 3 with 3 dice 3 times in a row bad. I can stand losing the SSRM2 arm. My face? Not so much.
