I'm a very casual player. I lay back, play the game and that's it. I can do it in silence (most of the time playing with It's Always Sunny, or American Dad in the background. ) and have a grand ole time.

I'm not someone who's crazy about scores, I just love running through a line and bashing anything in it's way. Riding the line like a surfer hanging ten on a wave of fire and lead. Waiting for the next enemy to step forward so that I can deliver death directly to their face; Harvesting destruction like some mad grim reaper, a smile spread across your blood and oil stained face; Until you're either dead or a hero. (I'm kind of a writer, nothing serious, but that part is coming.)

So what I'm looking for is a group that doesn't mind playing together in just the text chat currently provided by the game. I PUG. All of the time, and it really only takes two like minded people to run back and forth along the line to keep the enemy guessing  . I hate running other programs while I play, I hate the bulkiness of a head set, and I really just feel that words needn't be wasted, just fight and cover the guy in front of you.

That is my mindset. We'd never have times where you must get on and play for practice, we'd just check our list when we get on (if we feel like it) and see if anyone is playing...if so, jump in and cover them, leading to booty for the both of ye'. A group that knows the deal and, of course, if friendships form, they do so, but if not, so what if the CBills are rollin?

Of course the "nerdy, sci fi, fantasy writer" in me could not pass up naming such a group. So I decided that the "Council of Zen" was a pretty cool name. B) I think that the only real rule should be that "The Councel of Zen" is the name of the list. Not a "guild", or a "Merc". A list. (Mysterious, huh?).

Oh, and don't be a....hmmm....let me not waste words, "***** Knuckle" (attempting to emit an actual "Lol" (I almost corrected it because you can't tell what it says, but I bet your imagination will come up with something funnier anyway, HAVE AT IT!), as you play. No raging. No calling people names. Just a wingman who will try to keep his fire on the the guy you're looking at, knowing that the rest of your team is doing the same thing elsewhere along the line. I do encourage assisting your team if you are aware enough of the fight to do both at the same time.

Alas. I'm becoming too passionate. That's what it do. Have a nice day. ;) < I encourage smiley faces!

Respect and Zen,

Khan Reaper

P.S. Say "hello" on this page to get your name to the others.

Hello. I saw your post in the Hiring Hall, you should consider the Equal Opportunity Destroyers (EoD). We're a merc unit that's looking for pilots to build teamwork in a casual environment. Come on over and use teamwork, strategy, to share a few laughs, tell some good stories, drink good beer (if old enough) and have fun. We have our own private TeamSpeak3 server and website, http://www.equalopportunitydestroyers.enjin.com. If we sound appealing to you, or if you just have some questions you'd like answered about us, feel free to contact me via PM. I look forward to hearing from you, Mechwarrior!

Hmmm. I'm not trying to sound rude at all, but...No. This is not a teamspeak unit. This is not a "unit". It's a silent contract. There is no "Plan 78, Blue 42" to it. We get on, there is an occasional "hello" if an invite is accepted. A quick test of the rooms chattiness. We'll hardly play with called out plans. The unit will read each other just through the act of playing together. It is a mindset of playing in complete "zen". You don't need a plan, because you know what to do.

We're PUGGer's who PUG well, but sometime think to ourselves, "Why did that guy push so aggressively into that hole and lose his life and make it that much harder for the rest of us?" I think it as a PUGGer, but who has time for chatting it to the guy after he's been scrapped? I'm fighting someone here?!

This response shows me that maybe I've added this to the wrong board. The people I'm looking for won't even be in here looking for a clan?!

So while you can consider this a respectful, "No thank you," toward your offer of membership, know that I am forever grateful for your first response, as now I will place this in more suitable locations. ;)

A heads up. A person can be "black listed" in a way. Basically, if you don't like playing with a certain person, you are not obligated to have that person on your list.

Oh..and one more "criteria"...You should know what a "firing line" is, as forming a firing line is necessary to the "unspoken plan" of the Council. Covering one another along this line is critical to the success of every mission and the line makes this easier.
