Representing the pinnacle in Elite Mercenaries, the Highland Dragoon Guards support the Free Worlds League.

We endeavor to secure the worlds of the periphery against the destructive influence of the Inner Sphere, establishing a new home unmarred by the conflicts which have plagued our home world.

We are a unit dedicated to governance by the members, and commited to function through cooperation and team play. Our drops observe basic tactical practices, and our members play to win. As Highlanders, we represent a niche group in the 'MechWarrior community, and we show it through our principles:

We endeavor to personify the core pillars of the Highlander:
  • Cooperation: Highlanders work together constructively for the betterment of their fellows and organization
  • Communication: Highlanders speak their thoughts with wisdom, restraint, and conviction, speaking clearly and listening with understanding
  • Competency: Highlanders consistently work to achieve the highest level of skill and proficiency they are able, and help others do the same patiently.
Highlanders are always acting in the support of our core values:
  • Loyalty: This means loyalty to your brothers and friends of the Highlanders, as well as the values and organization they represent
  • Honor: This means demonstrating the strength of character and mature intent to deal with all others honorably and with respect
  • Integrity: This means upholding the values of the Highlanders through clear and fair judgement, and transparency of information and choice
We are a hardcore, Highlander-themed MWO mercenary group. To us, though, "hardcore" doesn't have to mean what you think it means. The HDG strive for a balance between competitive play skill and, well, whatever else is important in your life. You get to decide how much time you can dedicate to us.

Furthermore, we set ourselves apart by our unique organizational structure, designed to further our goal of being flexible yet competitive. HDG has three membership Tiers, which reflect decision-making ability and authority within the unit. Each member begins at Initiate, the lowest rank, and can become a Watchman or Guardsman should s/he so desire. The Watchmen and Guardsmen above them form the War Council, responsible for the direction and guidance of the unit. In this way, any of our members can begin working towards helping governing the group.

"But Uncle Adeptis," you say hurriedly. "What if I'm really good, but can only devote a bit of time a week?" That's the purpose of Rank. We use a military-style rank system, and promotions go to those who demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication, cooperation, and initiative. Through this system, we can gratefully recognize our members' skill without asking them to take on responsibility that they may not be able to commit to.

If this sounds like the unit for you, come visit us at http://www.HighlandDragoons.com! Alternatively, we have a channel on NGNG's TS3 server. Please come drop us a line!

Like many mercenaries, we do plan to conduct our operations independently of the major houses, but the philosophy and principles behind the Free Worlds League motivates us to devote our loyalties to House Marik. While other organizations may falter, defect, or fail, HDG is committed to establishing balance within the Inner Sphere and supporting the democratic association of worlds above the simple financial ties that govern many private companies.

Our "envoy" to House Marik will be "TrentTheWanderer", please feel free to contact him via his email "TrentTheWanderer@gmail.com" with questions, comments, or suggestions regarding our team!

Sincerely,

George Wade
Colonel, Highland Dragoon Guards
Commanding

I've stopped by to log on the master Marik page. I'll be looking to find ways to contribute to the bigger team as time goes by. It's great to be plugged in to the community!

Currently we've got two 3 hour ops scheduled a week, one on Tuesdays and one on Saturdays. Our final goal is persistent 16/5 24/2 with full staffing including multinational sections, but i'd say that's about 3-6 months out at the earliest.
