but even before this... it was all
8 mans... BEFORE this weekend was mostly Assaults... heavies were the "lights" UNLESS you go conquer then its mostly lights... so MWO = 2 modes GBoGH or GLaGCFLP
GBoGH = Go Big or Go Home.
GLaGCFLP = Go Light and Go Cap For Less Points.

No you don't. You must not do 8-mans.
Um then you dont do 8-mans, or when you do 8-mans it is not during Tuesday and Thursday about 8pm Central. I did 8-mans with Steiners on Friday night facing mostly all assaults. On Tuesday and Thursday the Black Hearts do 8-mans at about 8pm Central and we face mostly assaults. Sure we see an odd team of two of 6 assaults and 2 lights; but most of the time its mostly or all assaults. The 6 assaults and 2 lights is a mostly assaults, FYI.
We normally run two 8-man teams but our attendance has been... decreasing... and we are only able to normally field 1 full 8 man now.

this sucks.
Most people prefer to beat on pugs in 4-mans for quick: xp, c-bills, ego rub.
I probably one of them truth be told.
You don't get anything extra for 8-manning, and once you've done it a bit it gets old fast.
Wait around 20 mins for the team to come together.
Wait around 20 mins for people to 'tweak' builds and talk ****.
Wait around 20 mins while the match-maker "fails to find match".
No thanks.

First drop... FAILED to find someone. We saw that there was enough Steiners for another 8-man. So we had decided to get two 8-mans to synch man drop.
2nd drop we synch dropped with another Steiner group....
then we fell apart... we started too late. LOL

This is the unfortunate side effect of the 8-man groups being in their own match system. If groups were allowed to run at any size between 2-8 (later 2-12) with the condition that a similar size group exists on both teams it would allow for far more large group action.
This system would encourage corps to run a group as large as possible as many did in closed beta but unlike closed beta matchmaker it would match a group on each team. Some sort of min/max tonnage limit would probably be needed to prevent teams from going all assaults or all lights. These limits might be more acceptable to players if groups could be any size between 2 and 8.

At present is there really any benefit to 8man? It's mostly blobbing and target practice, will 3 separate lances change the meta game? No idea, but I don't think it's going to change much other then faster capping...

and then with 4+4+4.
would solve issues with waiting a year for everybody.
just load up 4 peeps and let the game team you up with 4 more.
on top of that, remove pug vs 4 man. - just pug vs pug.
so teamplay goes in 1 queue and solo play in another.

What happens with a group that has fewer than 4 players? Most of us don't have exactly 3, 7 or 11 other players available every time we want to drop.
