let us have in game macros.

there could easily be a computer lab in the mwo user interface.
this would allow us to make macros for use in game like many other online games do already.
not only would this be something to do when a little bored but its what i would imagine my mech pilot doing anyway.

i mean there are macros you can download which give you crazy ac2 fire rates when using the the 6 ac2 jagger. and there are also macros which time your uac5 perfectly so they dont jam.

these are not exploits just macros which are allowed but many people dont know where to get them etc etc.

so have an in gamemacro maker where we can set us fire sequences as any self respecting mech pilot would do :D

you do know that both those macros are kind of against the rules, as of a few patches ago.

what this game needs is modifiable delay between weapons in chain fire, not macros.

The UAC5 macro is kinda against the rules yes, since it gets around a ingame feature. But it doesnt allways work from what i hear. There is always a little lag or fireing delay from client side to server side so a macro can still make the UAC5 jam, and if said macro is 'loose' enough on its timings ot never get jamemd even with a little lag then chances r its fire rate will be very close ot that of a normal AC5...at which point ..whats the point ? lol.

The AC2 macro however is not working around any ingame features, its working around a game engine limitation. Currently iirc, the chain fire is limited on how fast it can fire due to some server side issue. The AC2's themselves are still firing at their intended rates of fire and are not designed to jam, the macro simply stagers the fireing of them making them a rapid stream of single ac2 rounds instead of a alpha strike group.

As for downlaoding macro's ..there is no need, if u have a gaming keyboard and/or mouse then the software thats comes with them usaly has a macro manager that is easy to use, so u can make them urself. If a person doesnt have a gaming keyboard or mouse then they r unlikely to be a 'gamer' and thus will likely not be bothered with macro's anyway.

Don't have a gaming mouse or keyboard, but I'm clearly a gamer. No point me getting a mouse with more than 3 buttons as I can barely use the 3 I have due to an injury to my right hand that gives me limited mobility. So I use a macro to give me increased functionality with the two buttons I can use, it had better not be bannable, as it seems a bit weak to ban people who are just compensating for disabilities.

I would agree that the UAC5 unjam macro is a cheat, but the fast fire autocannon trick can be achieved using 3 mouse buttons simultaneously, something I cannot do without a macro. I have a keyboard toggle that changes my LMB from fire selected weapon group to fire selected weapon group + group 5 + group 6 and another macro that holds group 4 on for me. Both, easily doable with a gaming mouse and a working hand :P

Anyway, if you are competent enough to program a macro, you are competent enough to download a macro program to use outside of the game.

I ask a GM about Macros:

Hello i have a question about the Logitech software "Setpoint 5.2A" for gaming mouse. Is it forbidden to use the macro feature to fire as example 5 AC2 in a perfect chain fire?

greetings Marauder IIC

Answer:

Using a predefined macro with your Logitech Drivers is not considered as a breach of our code of conduct.

That is product software.
Autohotkey isn't product software. Just sayin.

Q: My mouse/keyboard came with macro software that lets me emulate a series of clicks or helps me with some process. Is this allowed?

A: Yes, using macros as provided by 3rd party hardware vendors is allowed. Though the use of any modifications to assist with aiming, aimbots, wall hacks, or any attempt to give information or tactical assistance that other players would not have by default, is a serious violation of our Terms of Use and any account found to be using such software will likely be suspended or banned.

Is that what you meant? Because from what I'm reading, what the OP's asking about is allowed.
